I like this a lot. A surprise Morey move maybe to get Thad Young from Minny to help offset the loss of shipping DMo out for Dragic or Lawson.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=nnrbtf6 maybe take alan anderson (instead of backup PF/C) for 3 pointer when Ariza shot isnt falling. Nop pick to Phoenix
He may... there is only one ball and to get his touches the 2nd unit may be the way to go. It is not who starts but rather who finish.
Yeah , Len is why they are willing to move Plumlee .... for a first round pick. Len is going nowhere.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=p7bmveo With Dmo getting better in the post and Clint Capela showing some promise in the D-league I think it may be time to sale on Dwight. Get a bonafide PG and another young big. Plus it give us some leverage as to what we can do in the backcourt this summer. I think this makes us more athletic to when you bring back TJ.
No one is going to take Dwight and that contract if his knee is deteriorating like it seems. We just have to hope he gets better and this is temporary. DD
To Denver Alex Shved Kostas Papanikolaou NOP 2015 #1 pick To Phoenix Arron Afflalo A Second To Houston Goran Dragic Dragic / Beverley / Johnson Harden / Brewer / Terry Ariza / Brewer Motiejunas / Smith / Jones Howard / Motiejunas
I am going to update my recent post,. Based on the boxscores of the team's last two close games (when a team's actual rotation and minutes allocation can be seen, unlike in blowouts), which Wizards forward is the odd man out of the rotation, and therefore presumably expendable/extremely available? Rasual Butler: 48 total minutes Paul Pierce: 63 total minutes Otto Porter: 16 total minutes Martell Webster: 0 total minutes So, the Wizards really like Rasual Butler, and would presumably give Martell Webster away. And Otto Porter is not really being used. Maybe Morey sees if he can buy low on Porter. Or maybe Washington feels comfortable giving Butler's minutes to Porter and/or Webster. However, my guess is that Washington stands pat. This team is in the mix for the #2 seed in the East and they probably don't want to mess with success.
We could try something like that with NBA draft picks flying around to match all teams preferences (like NOP pick to Suns or whatever they would need). I would also consider to steal Kirilenko from 76ers, he's not playing for them aniway, but on a better team with a chance to win championship, with his fellow russian Shved he may play and back-up Ariza. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=k4ymyou
To New Orleans Clint Capella Kostas Papanikolau Alexey Schved To Minny Jason Terry Terrence Jones To Houston Kevin Martin Ryan Anderson Mo Williams Beverley / Williams / Canaan Harden / Martin Ariza / Brewer Motiejunas / Anderson /Smith Howard / Dmo More shooting on the wings, better depth, and better scorers without sacrificing much defense. Also adds a stop gap playmaker.
Arron Afflalo is not worth a lottery pick. the Suns will much prefer that pick and expiring contracts. send TJones to a 3rd team for a 1st round pick, flip that pick with NOP's pick and KPap+Shved's expiring contracts for Dragic+Plumlee. NY's 2nd rounder could be throw in if necessary. we'll always have either Harden or Dragic or both on the court, 48min., that's scary.
Dwight Howard for Al Jefferson and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist... Lock down defensive wings, and the two best low post players in the world. Play more small ball, using Ariza and MKG often at the PF, with Motiejunas and Jefferson getting a constant barrage of post-ups...
Here is my Goran Dragic trade: Goran Dragic and his little brother to Sacramento; Ben McLemore and Derrick Williams (expiring contract/filler) to Phoenix. Sacramento takes big swings (that are very liable to miss) under new ownership. Trading away the very nice young Ben McLemore for a guy in his late twenties (he turns 29 this year) who they will have to give $100 mil to in order to convince him to stick around this season seems kind of stupid to me. Anyway, this brings me to my two projected Rockets trades: Trade #1: Isaiah Canaan (or Nick Johnson), Kostas Papanikolaou, and a second round pick to Sacramento; Darren Collison and Reggie Evans to Houston Trade #2: Terrence Jones, Jason Terry, and Alexey Shved to Miami; Luol Deng and Shawne Williams to Houston Note that Houston drastically upgrades their roster yet has traded neither Donatas Motiejunas nor the 2015 Pelicans first round pick. Revised roster: Starting lineup PG Patrick Beverley (32 minutes/game) SG James Harden (36 minutes/game) SF Trevor Ariza (32 minutes/game) PF Luol Deng (32 minutes/game) C Dwight Howard (32 minutes/game) Key reserves Donatas Motiejunas (32 minutes/game) Darren Collison (28 minutes/game) Corey Brewer (16 minutes/game) End of the bench (no playing time barring an injury or a blowout or needed rest) Nick Johnson (or Isaiah Canaan) Josh Smith Shawne Williams Reggie Evans Joey Dorsey Stashed in the developmental league Clint Capela New guy (early twenties under the radar guy identified by front office) Darren Collison >>>> Jason Terry Luol Deng >>>> Josh Smith Smith may want/need to get released if his playing time disappears, which works out fine, as it allows Houston to pick up a veteran wing player (for emergency depth in the postseason) who gets waived after the trade deadline, e.g., Tayshaun Prince.
