I've complained about this before, but lately it's been getting out of hand. Every time I sit down to eat, there's always some one who wants to have a conversation at that time even though I clearly dont like being disturbed when I'm eating. Despite me giving subtle hints and not even responding for the entire "conversation" sometimes, people just don't get the ****ing hint.

But then when I come right out politely and tell them that I like to be alone when I am eating, sometimes they get offended and walk away in a huff. This is a skill I dont have. One person wont even make eye contact with me now. All I wantd was 30 ****ing minutes to myself and this ****ing person wants to talk to me about some local bull**** news. Meanwhile i havent said **** back in 15 minutes cuz im stuffing myself and the guy just goes on and on about some stupid street cleaning. I just don't know how to deal with it the right way it seems.

place a .44 magnum in front of you on the table while you eat. Then every once and a while fondle the trigger with you finger.

    Should do the trick.

When someone starts to boot up a conversation simply say: "Nope! This is one thing I don't do. And its something I live by. But, I do not talk while I eat. Ever."

I guarantee that people will eventually stop bothering you if you do this.

Cut them off quickly in the beginning, don't let them get going, and then start offering them insurance or talk about joining your MLM.

Eat your food with your mouth open and spit some food out every now and then.

    That should do the trick.

Learn to be more tolerent, or learn to live without friends.

Why are you asking them to change when you can.

Put a sign up that says: "Enjoying my lunch at the moment. Please don't disturb." That way you don't have to say anything, and the sting will be deadened because they won't feel like you are shoeing them off.

Or you can go to your car and eat there.

But DD's advice is probably the best.

    Wait.

So they are leaving you alone during your lunch now and they are leaving you alone the rest of the day too?

*arkoe sees this as a win win.

I'm like this for small talk. I absolutely hate small talk. Its like going to play pick up and everyone only wants to shoot around.

Watch netflix on your phone or something. And if they start talking, you can point to it.

I have this problem, only instead of being during lunch, it is when I am closing up our shop. There is one warehouse worker that closes with me (I am inside manager, he is outside manager) and so we both leave and lock up together. This dude has the worst attitude during the day at work and is very unpleasant to be around. For some reason, he likes to talk my ear off while we are closing up, and most of the time the conversation continues all the way to the parking lot. I like to leave when finished with work, but this dude keeps talking. I sometimes even get into my car and roll the window down and he continues by coming up to my car. I give him every single context clue that I do not care, and that also I am trying to get the F out of there and head home. He never gets it. So I feel your pain.
