from BSPN's Summer Forecast: Where Will Wade Be? The Dwyane Wade saga is coming to resemble that of his pal LeBron James. Like LeBron, Wade went early in the 2003 draft, joined a losing team and turned it around in a hurry with MVP-level play. Like LeBron, Wade signed a shorter-than-expected, four-year extension that began in 2007 with a 2010 opt-out. And like LeBron, Wade has rebuffed all efforts by his current team to agree on a new extension this summer. And according to our panel, that's not where the similarities stop: Miami (35 votes) Chicago (8 votes) New York (6 votes) Also receiving votes: New Jersey (2), Houston (1) There's some text describing why he might go to the top three, but I found it interesting that someone out there voted for Houston. We can dream, right? http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=OffseasonPredictions09-WadeFuture
ive said it before, Wade would be the missing link to our chip. Not to mention he would fit right in with the personality of this team. He is one of the good guys. That would be amazing.
Do we honestly have the money to sign Wade next year? I don't think so unless we unload some of our key pieces.
What can we offer that Mami or any other teams can't? money - nope, not most playing with a big man - yup, Wade knows it well. fame - how about 13 billions? I am sure wade knows about Kobe and LBJ jersey sales and additional side money that those guys got in partnering with China. If Wade joins the rockets with Yao, he will be an instant hot cake off the oven. quite frankly, media loves splashes and big news. If LBJ stays put with the Cavs, then Wade's future could be the next big thing.
I think this is actually interesting. I haven't heard from anyone, outside of Houston fans, that the Rockets have a shot at a player of Wade's caliber. And yet, some "expert" out there actually thinks we'll get him. It gives me a little more hope than before.
if anything, this gives me a lot less hope than before. it seemed much more attainable to me before i realized that only 1 darn expert thinks we have a shot. lol
well that guy who voted Houston was an idiot...we are not going to have enough capspace to sign a max FA like wade.....not as if he was ever gonna come here
The question wasn't which teams have a shot. It's which team will actually get Wade. I wouldn't have expected any of them to choose Houston.
