They need another big hitting series to replace Dexter, hopefully this will be good. Showtime is pretty reliable when it comes to shows in my experience
Showtime is escapist and derivative, but broadcast television is written for senior citizens and high school dropouts, and HBO cancels anything without consecutive Emmy wins and eight-figure DVD sales; so, yeah, if you want reasonably mature shows that will be around next year, it's probably the place.
I don't know how it could have ever possibly been great. Six seasons off a three-word premise; that show has just run on banter and amazing guest casting. Although, based on Duchovny's real-life sex addiction, it might just be a darker version of Curbed.
The show has had really funny moments, I don't know why but I was really addicted to the first 4 seasons. Since then its just been painful to watch.
Homeland is probably the best show on showtime, though the last season wasn't all that great. Hope this is good, I'll give it a try.
That show is like nails on a chalkboard half the time. Its predictability and ugly carrie crying can wake the dead.
The first half of season 2 was pretty great and then it went downhill halfway through and plummeted off the cliff in the finale.
I'm particularly a fan of Shameless and House of Lies on Showtime right now. I watch Californication just because I've watched it for so long. The only showtime show that really REALLY ever let me down was weeds, couldn't watch the later episodes of that one
This looks pretty good. I'm liking the mafia style hardcore hits. I think I've seen the advertisements on some SHOwtime programming. Thanks for the heads up.
Premiere Episode is streaming 12 days before the premiere airdate <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/UCjXhhJ7avk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Looks like Showtime is looking for a new series to take over once Dexter wraps up. Not sold on this yet.
They are really pushing this show hard with advertising. They know this is their future after dexter or at least they're praying it is. It's ok but a very cliche premise. I somewhat enjoyed it. Though the show coming on right after dexter has big shoes to fill.
I was watching TMC last night and saw that this show aired at 9 p.m. last night and I missed it. I'll look for the re-run and record it to see later. It still looks like a good show.
