Ric Bucher said Lebron was with Hakeem getting a postgame. Funny to me because I havent seen Lebron attempt to post up the whole playoffs. Its a shame because he would be a beast. http://espn.go.com/espnradio/player?rd=1#/podcenter/?id=5182707&autoplay=1&callsign=ESPNRADIO
you hae to understand whenever this guy is in the post, he will be doubled IMMEDIATELY. unlike kobe or other guys who post up, they have sometime to make a move before the double comes. lebron is literally much bigger than his defender that a double comes almost immediately. and i think he does have a post game (i have seen 3-4 legit post moves from him). he just does NOT use it enough (b/c of the doubles obviously).
Nah, I think he's done enough. who else is he gonna help? Kevin Martin? We'll see who's on the roster next year, but we know he worked with Yao before. I'm glad the elite players, the champions and mvps respect hakeem. too bad I can't say the same about some people here on clutchfans.
I understand hes going to get double team, but he can more effective at posting up than shaq, varejao, Z because of the double team. They have shooters so why not at least TRY?
Ah, good one. I think the players are seeking Hakeem, not the other way around. Dream doesn't have to do anything for the organization. He gave the Rockets and the city of Houston more than enough.
ask mike brown. i think mike brown, like JVG, thinks the best player for his best player was the pick and roll galore (like with tracy). and that's understandable as you have more offensive options with the pick and roll when lebron is doubled hard on the perimeter.
Scola and Hill can both benefit from Dream's coaching. Scola already has some good footwork that can only be enhanced by Dream's coaching.
Hakeem should get these guys to teach him some perimeter game so he can come back and conquer the league from a new position.
To answer your question, Ric Bucher misspoke. He was contrasting Kobe's laser focus on becoming the best basketball player he could be with LeBron's interest in pursuing other interests. Specifically, Bucher meant that while LeBron is hanging with Warren Buffett and trying to become a global icon, Kobe is working with Hakeem to develop a post game (which is old news to everyone on this BBS).
I've seen Kobe posting up since he worked with Dream, and boy is there an improvement. Up fakes, undercuts and short hook shots. Even in my pick-up game play, I mimic with good success the stuff I rememeber Dream doing. Imagine what somebody with actual talent like Lebron "Jesus" James could do with some of that.
