Sorry if this has been posted before. I can't search and I looked at the first 4 pages and didn't see it. Just trying to share what was shared with me on another forum. I thought all of the true Rockets fans here would appreciate seeing this vintage Rockets action. Hakeem was a monster! Enjoy... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FwtTBK0cCnk&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FwtTBK0cCnk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Hakeem is actually supposed to have two career quadruple doubles, but the greedy NBA took an assist away after reviewing tape.
Calvin mentioned that and he seemed pretty upset about it, lol. That guy was/is crazy. Usually in a good way though. shhhh... Just kidding, yeah same person.
Nope, but he was close. I distinctly remember it. It was a game against the Kings. Clyde already had 10+ in points, rebounds, and steals , but was one assist short of the quad feat. Rudy T called a timeout to run a play at the end for him to get his 10th assist, but it failed miserably.
Thanks for posting, had not seen the clips before. I love watching the guy block shots, he does it with such authority, yet is able to keep it in play, one of the best ever, for sure.
No. Clyde missed a quadruple double 2 times. He missed it as a Rocket once and a Blazer once. I think he only missed by 1 rebound in one of those and 1 assist in the other.
Weird seeing two #34 Former Cougars going at it. I remember cringing a lot when Cadillac was in the Slam Dunk contest. Thanks for the video
Great clip. Makes me wish that the team can have another Dream in the team. A player that can dominate both at offense and at defense.
someone on mixmakers posted the game a year back. I dont know if CF is against that because of nba broadcasting rights, but here's the link http://www.mixmakers.net/forums/lar...s-bucks-03-29-90-hakeem-quadruple-double.html
Actually, it was the opposite: Hakeem finished one assist shy of the quad, and the Rockets found one on the game tape that the scorer had missed. The petitioned the NBA to change the box score to reflect the event and the NBA refused, saying, We don't alter the game record just to reflect a statistical anomaly. As I recall, this was just a couple of weeks before Hakeem got his quad. He never said anything, but I guess he was mad at the NBA and was determined to do it again. I think he could have had several more if he really wanted. He was that good. I also seem to recall that when he was with the Rockets, Jim Peterson also had a quad, but it was in a preseason game that allowed you to stay in with six or more fouls. Peterson wound up with doubles in points, rebounds, blocks (I think) and fouls...
