Well, this is what happens where there is essentially a monopoly in the TV wrestling industry. The workers are not really in a position to really shop around for better terms. The part that makes the WWE look the worst is the discussion about how the WWE handles injuries, including concussion, and the pressure for guys to work while seriously injured. For all the talk about more awareness about safety (which probably has improved since the days of Dusty Rhodes and Mick Foley), it still sounds like a place that disregards plenty of physical danger to the wrestlers.
I wonder if Stone Cold will bring this up on the podcast next week with Vince. What are the chances this is a work?
2 hours of CM Punk whining about WWE not bending over backwards 24/7/365 and complaining about how they book him, completely disregarding the year and a half he was champ. Seriously I love him in the ring but he's a huge arrogant baby out of it.
Some of Punk's complaints are creative differences and business discretion. Much of the creative stuff is a matter of opinion and, for the most part, I wouldn't say that somebody is blame-worthy just because they happen to have an opinion contrary to my own. The part I find seriously wrong relate to the handling of wrestlers' health: misdagnosing MRSA-- a serious infection that wrestlers are especially at risk for contracting, twisting wrestlers' arms/pressuring them to wrestle with injuries- which can endanger both the injured wrestler and his opponent, putting an unready and dangerous wrestler (Ryback, allegedly) in a match. This is the stuff that the WWE should come out and dispel/explain.
I completely agree. How many times does he mention in the interview that he didn't care about the money and it's not about the money, yet one of his biggest complaints with WWE was that he didn't get paid what he thought he was worth. Just a bunch of hypocritical BS.

He may not care about the money in terms of having enough to spend, but he can still care about the money as a sign of respect/appreciation for his work.
It's times like this that I really miss WCW. Not that the product was better, but the mere prospect of another major company kept the WWF on it's toes. I've never watched TNA with any regularity, the production has always come across as extremely poor, but I always wanted it to succeed for that reason. Punk is one of the most complete performers of all-time (he seems like a whiny dick too, but many wrestlers are). The fact that we don't get to see him perform because he can't get along with the only company that really matters bothers me.
The past few months of TNA have been really good. They've been putting out a quality alternative to the wwe. Hope they can pull off the jump to the new channel.
he'll be back... eventually he will want to return and Vince never lets the past prevent him from making money in the future. Punk needed a break anyway, he had been going at it non stop for like 15 years, he needed to leave and fall back in love with it. I really missed out on the entire CM Punk era, i stopped watching in like 06 and didn't start watching again until TLC last year so im really hoping he does have one more run left.
I love TNA's matches but there is just something weird about their story telling i cant quite put my finger on it but i just never get into it.
Finally listened to this, can't wait for the cool down interview later this week? Wrestlers should have unionized a LONG time ago. If you look at how some old timers are now it's horrible, the part about the staph infection is very surprising. I thought at least guys were getting taken care of WHILE they were employed. I can't blame the guy for wanting bigger matches. A big problem with WWE is they give all the big matches to older returning stars like Brock Lesner and The Rock. Lesner is the title holder and he hasn't been on television in what... a few months? How would you feel if you worked every night and some guy who just shows up every now and then gets paid more and on top of that gets all the big opportunities. While I'm intrigued by their new crop of stars...Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose...I wonder if it is a matter of time before they too are buried on the card behind the likes of some old returning stars like Sting.

LOL at WWE cameras showing random white people dancing when The New Day (Kofi, Big E, and Xavier) make their Monday Night Raw debut. smh
