Trevor Ariza is a bad example. He had four series to play in which is highly unlikely for any player on our team. Also, the player with the most likely chance to breakout for us in the playoffs is Dragic and just like Ariza we are likely to lose him in free agency if he does.

True, but Ariza isnt the only one. It happens everywhere, even in first round knockouts if someone elevates their game to a new level. Like you said though, worst part is its most likely going to be Goran Dragic who is gone at the end of the season.

I still think it could add value to a team trading for someone like Dalembert if he shows up and is good Sammy, or if Kevin comes back and drops 35 pts to push the Thunder to 7 games. Those kinds of performances can really help things get moving in the offseason.

Hell no, what's with the dumb questions.

Davis
Robinson
Kidd-Gillchrist
Barnes
Beal
Lamb
Drummond
Rivers
Moultrie
Liliard
Jones
Zeller
Henson
Sullinger

We can probably get Sullinger with 14, one might be available of your long ass list at 13.

It's not a dumb question. You gave me a "Hell Yes" to 5 players being off the board at 13 or 14th and then gave me a "Hell No" about another 9 players not following to us at the same position. The little list you just made doesn't even include Marshall who you just said wouldn't fall to us. There is no might about one being available because simple math shows that at least two of the players WILL be available at 13.

Here are our draft picks for 2012:

2012 first round draft pick from New York
New York's own 2012 1st round pick to Houston (top 5 protected in 2012, top 5 protected in 2013, top 5 protected in 2014, and top 5 protected in the 2015 Draft). If Houston does not receive a 1st round pick from New York by the 2015 Draft, then New York will convey their own 2015 2nd round pick and 2016 2nd round pick to Houston. [Houston - New York - Sacramento, 2/18/2010]

2012 first round draft pick from Dallas
Dallas' own 2012 first round draft pick to Houston via the L.A. Lakers (top 20 protected in the 2012 draft, top 20 protected in 2013, top 20 protected in 2014, top 20 protected in 2015, top 20 protected in 2016, top 20 protected in 2017 and unprotected in the 2018 Draft). [Dallas - L.A. Lakers, 12/11/2011 and then Houston-L.A. Lakers 3/15/2012]

Here are the draft picks we owe other teams in 2012:

2012 first round draft pick to New Jersey
Houston's own 2012 1st round pick to New Jersey (top 14 protected in 2012, top 14 protected in 2013, top 14 protected in 2014, top 14 protected in 2015 and top 14 protected in the 2016 Draft). If New Jersey does not receive a 1st round pick from Houston by the 2016 Draft, then Houston will convey their own 2017 2nd round pick and cash to New Jersey. [Houston - Los Angeles Lakers - New Jersey, 12/15/2010]

2012 second round draft pick to Detroit
Houston's own 2012 2nd round pick to Detroit (top 40 protected in 2012, top 35 protected in 2013, top 35 protected in 2014 and unprotected in the 2015 Draft). [Detroit - Houston, 6/25/2009]

Since this draft is as deep as it is, do we make playoffs and give NJ our pick or just end the season and take the 14th and 15th/16th pick from NY and either try to trade both picks and a player (or 2) for a much higher pick???

I just don't see Sullinger falling past 10 especially if the Pistons draft anywhere from 7-10. I like the kid's game and if he does somehow fall that low, you pick take him and run and move Ppat and/or Scola. Trading for him if he goes off the board also works.

Leonard at 14 would also be a decent choice unless morey thinks there's someone better at a lower position. Can't argue taking a 7-1 guy with potential at 14. Same goes for Henson.

Fournier is another guy Morey may look at in the late-1st rd/early 2nd-rd. SG/SF from france.

I think we should trade Morris (and possible fillers) for whoever picks up Royce White (and possible fillers) if possible. He's a gamble, but the rewards are high. His skill set is very unique.

And if we can retain Gogi, trading Lowry for whoever drafts Beal wouldn't be too bad. Potentially good SGs are becoming rare in the NBA.

Good grief, this board has gotten really stupid. One day it won't even be worth it.

It's not going to make or break someone's career.. you're going to evolve yeah but basically no one on our roster will make some miraculous leap just because they got swept or won a few games in the playoffs.

This is what I've been saying all year long.

We can get into the top 10 by doing that and that could be ALL the difference from getting a all-star player and another role player.
