Hey guys, first time poster here. I've been reading clutchfans for a couple of years now. I wanted to get y'alls opinion on DeMarcus Cousins? I understand he's a head-case but don't we kinda need someone like that on a team? A la Rodman, World Peace, Maxwell, Rasheed, etc. Also, we know big men take longer to develop and his ceiling is through the roof. I believe working with McHale (eventually) could do wonders for him. I would trade anyone but Harden for him, what do you guys think? Feel free to merge or lock as you feel necessary. Thanks
That would be a laughably terrible trade. Harden is already a better player than Cousins will ever be, and D-Mo's ceiling is not far from Cousins'. I would offer Jones and D-Mo for Cousins, or one of those two + a first rounder. That's about it. Cousins has regressed a bit so far this year instead of improving, and he still has attitude problems.
Whether the board likes Cousins or not is probably a non-issue, but the only important point is we have little to no shot of acquiring him.
I'm pretty sure he's sarcastic. Clutchfans LOVE Cousins. Every time he has a little episode in Sacramento, a thread would pop up about whether or not they'd trade him. Also, the Rockets front office has always loved Cousins, even with all his ridiculously immature attitude. Kind of interesting, but if for some reason the Rockets do get Cousins, it would certainly complete the entire Pistons 2.0 roster. Asik as Ben Wallace, Cousins as Rasheed Wallace, Parsons as Prince, Harden/Lin as Hamilton/Billups. Heck, we even have a Euro 7-footer on the bench to act as the next Darko(but hopefully better version).
Cousins is 50/50 on clutchfans. I personally would love to have the guy if he could play consistent. Wouldn't trade the farm for him though.
He really would benefit financially if he'd learn how to keep his cool. Instead, he acts a fool. I'd rather grow from within, with Patterson/TJ/Moti/Smith competing for minutes at the 4/backup 5, than invest in a talented knucklehead.
