PPat is currently the starting PF. Morris already had a few good games but is he more suited to playing SF or coming off the bench? Terrence Jones also had a really good performance in the limited minutes he got today. Who do you think will be the starting PF this season? (I didn't include White and D-Mo in this poll because they haven't had an impact yet)
Its Patterson's job to lose. I think Morris may eventually supplant him, though. Patterson needs to really step his game up. He's too passive.
Honestly we should just trade Patterson while he has good value. Don't think the guy is our future PF or will be Scola's level. Start T.Jones and bring Morris to score off the bench
I;m going to have to agree Patterson needs more aggression - not necessarily in his shot selection but he gots to play with a chip on his shoulder - but then again I think the entire team needs that chip. No respect til they actually start steamrolling.
Now is the time to pull the Gasol trade, his stock is as low as ever. Give him a change of scenery and he will be good again, and a good pairing with Asik.
The problem with ppat is that he is no threat in any rebounds or post ups. Completely defeats the purpose of a PF.
I'm happy with how things are going. Unlike most of the board I believe we should bring the rookies along slowly. I think if Morris continues to develop he could take the SF spot but he has to become consistent. I still think Parsons hasn't played his best ball and is capable of elevating his game, especially his 3pt shot. I think Jones should slowly take more of PPatt's minutes as the season goes. Especially if he continues to be the shot blocking monster that we have seen. If Jones shows some low post skills id be happy for him to become the starting pf sooner. Unfortunately he seems to like to shoot the ball instead of owning in the paint. That problem leads me to Greg Smith. He maybe should be our starting PF because he is great around the rim, can rebound, defend 4's and 5's.
Asik / G. Smith / Aldrich Motiejunas / M. Morris / Patterson T. Jones / Parsons / R. White Harden / Delfino / D. Cook Lin / Machado / Douglas
Jones is the obvious choice, then Morris, then PPat unfortunately, this coaching staff thinks PPat, then Morris, then Jones
I don't think start D-Mo is a good idea...even let him come off the bench...he is not NBA-ready yet. Cant rebound the ball too.
He's unproven, yes. But he's also a 7-footer, skilled, active, probably the best post presence on the team. It just seems the coaches underestimates the rookies but if the goal is to develop young players, it behooves them to play the young guys and expedite the growth.
