Arrrgh. I knew it. Cyberx is a Lin Only Fan!!! Just kidding -- thanks for the update Cyberx. Well folks, looks like this is our team. For the most part I am ok with this. I wish we would have gotten Bosh and I wish we would not have made Parsons a RFA (so we could trait his Mavs a** of course), but I still really like this team. I am a worried about our backup small forward position -- but I was last year as well. Papayaangelou would have helped with that -- too bad the Rockets could not have gotten that done. Hopefully he can come over next season. I still think something may get done as far as a trade, but probably not until after the season starts.
Felt used - he was asked to help recruit and do all these things... He was even asked to recruit Melo - while he had his own FA stuff to do. He helped bring in Dwight for sure - then they dont match or even make an offer cause they were waiting for that big star.
Which article? Are you referring to Harden's "cornerstone vs. role players and pieces" talk discussed in the other thread or is there something recent that Morey said? What specifically are Parsons and Asik saying? Also, Asik talks? To people?
One easy fix. Make McHale the face of the Rockets' basketball ops. Make him the president of something like the Pacers did with Larry Bird.
Oh no, Parsons and Asik are bad mouthing us. LOL. Give me a break. This isn't HS. Players want money. Players want to win. Morey will get his third all-star caliber one way or another. Parsons just wasn't that guy. He's the fourth best player on basically any championship team.
Chandler would be making about 13 million less then he is now if Morey hadn't let him out. He can eat a c@ck.
I don't blame him at all. He put in work for us on and off the court. He obviously wanted to succeed here. We obviously did not value his contributions (past, present and future) the same way he did. I don't blame Morey for not matching but I understand the butthurt on Chandler's side.
I'd be pissed off at the Rockets too if I was Parsons. I'm stuck in Dallas because they didn't match. Of course, Parsons is a pretty boy douchesicle, so by his nature, he loves Dallas and is just being a b****.
If he wanted to stay in Houston, he shouldn't have signed that awful contract. I can understand why he would have felt used and tossed aside, but this is always how Morey has played RFA and if he can't see that Howard/Harden/Parsons/4th star is better than Howard/Harden/Parsons, then he's been clubbing too much.
cyber...any word on if the Rockets 1. tried negotiating with Parsons before the start of FA? 2. Are the Rockets mgmt mad that Parsons signed as soon as he had a chance? or did they want him to wait?
He was really close to many people in the Rockets organization and he was the face of the Rockets when it came to the Houston community. He made Houston his home and took pride in this city. He wasn't that star that could go and donate millions - but he was out in the communities doing a lot.
We didn't match because we didn't have time to be able to match. He threw a wrench in our plans. I'm over it. I can't wait for the season to start so he can average 15, 5, 4 again and prove that he's worth all that money!
Sorry but all that is just noise. Money and a chance to win trumps all. Money is the most important. Let the teenage twittering girl play for Dallas. Asik held out with a pretend injury and wasn't close to being a professional. They can both take their hurt feelings and truly shove it up their collective asses. Let the twitter verse whine/cry about the Rockets - it's awesome to see how sensitive and petulant professional multimillionaire/billionaire's and their fangirls are. Crying while posting twitter responses is as lame as you can get.
