LOL @ thinking he has star potential. The guy is good, but never going to do something really noteworthy well meaning scoring points, assists blocks and rebounds.

Parsons playing that defense in the fourth. Even though he disappeared offensively, he helped the team unlike Kfart

If this dude learns to shoot...it's over. When you watch his game, and then look at his stat line....he's almost got a 2:1 A/TO ratio, he's got more steals than turnovers, and he handles the ball a lot! If this dude learns how to shoot....he's gonna be one heckuva load to deal with.

If he improves his jump-shot, I see him developing into a combination of Hedo Turkoglu (in his prime) on offense and Shane Battier on defense.

Which would put him in the All Star or Border line All-Star stratosphere.

Not a star, but really solid contributor for a contender imo.

It's strange how, for this team, the 2nd round picks almost always turn out better than the 1st round picks.

He wont' be a star, but he's got a long future in the NBA. He'd be my ROY if it wasn't for Kyrie.

His defense is already all-star level, better than most all-stars in fact.

That's quite a feat for a rookie. There are tons of players that come in the game with the ability to score, but how many could come in the game and slow down the best scorers?

Love the guy. I really don't want to find out that he's been traded in the next couple of days.

The difference between the two players is this: the opinion about ariza was based on how he played on another team and before he played a single game wiht the rockets, that opinion changed when we saw him play as a rocket. Ariza was also being touted as a player who would play along side the likes of yao ming, aaron brooks (who was coming off a stellar playoff series and had won most inproved player of the year) and perhaps (who was rehabbing) tmac OR someone we could trade tmac for. That NEVER transpired so the thing we were excited to see what we were excited with ariza about

With Parsons, our opinion is based on what we are seeing AS A ROCKET in their current situation so its not likely to change as much

Lastly, Ariza was in his 6th season when he came ot the rockets so he was pretty much developed in terms of his game.... parsons is a second round ROOKIE which means we have more reason to be excited because he has some holes in his game (FT shooting, consistant jumpshot) that will improve as he moves into his 6th season

    that is all

    Oh please don't compare them

Ariza was the biggest cancer on offense since Artest. He bricked everything you can possibly brick on offense.

Parsons always drives and plays under control, doesn't contort his body on layups like Ariza, doesn't force long jumpers for no reason. He knows he's not a great shooter so he only shoots a lot when he knows he's on fire. He's like the anti Ariza.

Don't expect sensible posts. This is clutchfans remember. The place where twill is an all-star/potential superstar chained unfairly to the bench and parsons is an average role player at best.

Chandler is white. Most on this board (including most NBA boards) won't consider the possibility of a white player being a star until it has actually happened. Their max potential is always "good, solid role player" until something else drastically changes.

Someone is going to say "that's racist" but 1. I'm white and 2. I'm not agreeing with it, but it's an unfortunate (and stupid) truth....

Don't forget Parsons already has decent ball handling skills. Especially for someone his size. Ariza couldn't dribble the ball.
