The radio guys made it sound like they were all Lowry flops (I got disgusted watching the TV after 3 quarters), but honestly that was just a case of the Rockets having the BEST player on the court at the end of the game. Say what you want about the validity of the calls, but Lowry forced the issue, drew the contact, AND he made his shots. I call that showing up. I call that clutch. On his charge that he drew, at worst it was a no-call with Young tripping on his own, and you've got a scrum on the ground to pick up a loose ball. Honestly Philly has a lot of great pieces, but they look like the Rockets of last year. No go-to scorer late in the end of games; Iguodala is reprising the role of Kevin Martin, but no one on their team has half the heart of Lowry. I'm glad that Lowry's finally building his reputation up to a level that is worthy of his play as well. Violet Palmer made some ridiculous calls throughout the game against us (some loose ball foul where NO ONE was within three feet of the opposing player?!), so it's only fair that the ones at the end finally fell in our favor.
Space, The 3pt drive was vintage Kyle, drive in and he got hammered by Vukovic - great play. Kyle flopped on defense and got the call, then bull dogged into another call that went our way - could have been a charge, but was called a blocking foul. The Refs were on our side for once. I would like Kyle a LOT LOT more if he would stop flopping and just try to make the shot like he did late in this game....I love the bulldoggedness, hate the flop. DD
Don't think he had much of a choice but to flop there (on the defensive end). Thad has like 9" on him posting up.
At least Klow's flops aren't as blatant as these. Sure he sells the contact, but if it gets called, why not?
I don't think it was much of a flop against Young. Maybe a little bit, but Young definitely gave Kyle his shoulder, and it doesn't take much for 6'8", 220lbs Thaddeus Young to knock a point guard over... even a well built one like Kyle.
Maybe it was a flop, but I don't have a problem so much with that since he was guarding a SF/PF on a mismatch. If no help was coming, there really wasn't much else he could do. I get more annoyed when Scola tries something like that while defending another big who is more or less his size.
