Not after 4 games. These guys (especially Hill) are "assets" that could be used in a bigger, hopefully better trade for us. But then again, we'll see where we are at the deadline.

This is true, but then again, Hill has huge upside. I love Landry, but he's smaller and has I think basically maxed out his potential. Hill is bigger and maybe more athletic, but might need some time. If we continue losing like this though, I don't see any reason why Hill wouldn't get lots and lots of minutes to continue developing. PP might even see some time at this rate.

Very interesting question though, it breaks my heart to say no to Landry. But hey, he is a free agent after this season

Yes, because of the chemistry element. He adds intensity that we are only getting from Lowry, Hayes, and Shane. Well thats about all we're getting from Shane, but he'll get it going.

surprised I'm saying this but not w/ Hill's recent production. He was very active 2nite.

Replace hill w/ say Jefferies and yes...but then there is no reason for Sac to do it.

    Nash+ hill for Brooks+Battier+Hill

definitely a win now trade....nash gives us someone who can work a pick and roll and a leader, who can also be efficient with his shooting...hill still playing well at his age

Suns need to rebuild, hill and brooks perfect pieces for them to start and battier is expiring

Might be more in the suns favor due to hill's potential...but i think this makes our offense deadly and consistent....we lose two defenders, but hill can do a solid job at SF and Damp can replace Hill. Also creates a roster spot for Damp without having to trade JT. I think defense is more of a mental issue, while offense needs a facilitator to smooth the bumps that come up late in games..

    Nash/Lowry
    Martin/Lee
    Hill/Bud
    Scola/chuck
    Yao/Miller/Dampier

    Brooks/Dragic
    Jrich/dudley
    Hedo/Childress
    Hill/Warrick
    Lopez/Frye

    Hinrich, Lowry, Smith
    Martin, Brooks, Taylor
    Lee, Budinger, Battier
    Scola, Hill, 2Pat
    Yao, Ericka, Miller

Brooks and Lowry were the Rockets most successful pairing last season. Bringing in another starter PG ensures this duo will see the court together each game.

How about bringing back Wesley & Jon Barry?

Not the same players but a new version in Hinrich and Brooks.

Remember the Rockets were bad after the T-Mac trade. Things did not go right until Wesley was brought in to shore up the defense and Barry for his shooting off the bench.

It could be another PG but I think Hinrich is attainable. Wizards basically took on his contract for the 17th pick from the Bulls. When Arenas returns from injury the 6-3 Hinrich will go back to starting out of position at small forward.

Hinrich could brings two things to the Rockets. Run the PnR as he gets most of his own scoring out of it and able to defend at both guard positions. So firstly we could finally see beast mode Scola by another name:

    Pick n Rolla Scola!!!

On the defensive end he would allow Martin to switch onto the smaller point guard. An example of this would be Dunleavy on the Pacers. Where at 6-9 his size can bother the smaller 6 to 6-3 ballhandler/playmaker. It's not a perfect solution as he still gets blown by by their speed too often but he's placed in a situation to be more helpful.

Also I think the second unit has also lost that spark they bring to the Rockets. It could be Lowry's bad back or the loss of a go to scorer. In previous seasons Landry, Brooks, and to a lesser extent Barry, have filled that role. Yao could be that guy but in the last podcast on Bullard's show. Bullard said Adelman's preference was to start Yao because he wanted to keep the second unit's energetic up tempo game.

So the next best thing could be to return Brooks to the bench and let him jack up shots without a conscience? Against bench players Brooks would certainly kill maybe even start putting up similiar shot percentages as Barry? At the moment, he's got the same affinity for those early pull up threeballs, the same makes would be nicer. Aaron's got the upside to claim the Sixth man of the year award.

Hinrich has got another year on his deal but it decreases. Trade could be for a combination of expiring contracts out of Battier, Jeffries, &/or Hayes. Or wait until Dec 15 to include Miller, where Wizards create cap space still, just not as much.

    Hinrich, Lowry, Smith
    Martin, Lee, Taylor
    Lee, Budinger, Battier/Jeffries
    Scola, Hill, 2Pat
    Yao, Ericka, Hayes/Miller

The Rockets only need to hold onto one of either Battier or Jeffries if they intend to offer a trade package for a superstar/Melo, etc...

Got to admit, until game 7 vs the Mavs, I had a lot of fun that year...

I have to say that you're adding to the clutter in the GARM. You posted this idea in the trade thread and now you're posting it in it's own thread, possibly because no one paid attention to your idea, just like they didnt with mine, which i posted right before you. I feel like posting my own thread too, but that's not going to help things around here. The GARM gets watered down with threads and each has very poor discussion with few replies.

I'm confused - were you wanting to trade Brooks for Hinrich?? Never mind - see that you still have Brooks on the team but he is not listed in the depth chart??
