We have a winner! Maybe Battier instead of Ariza ... but hey, I like it!

    Ellis, Butler, Randolph? Damn!

Houston gets: Kevin Martin, Jared Jeffries, Cuttino Mobley
New York gets: Tracy McGrady, Joey Dorsey
Sacramento gets: Nate Robinson, Wilson Chandler, Brian Cook

Rockets get Martin and the financial relief of Cuttino's contract (but have to take on Jeffries).
Knicks get T-Mac and the cap room afforded by dumping Jeffries.
Kings get Nate (who they were rumored to be after last year) and Chandler and save a few bucks.

    I'm bored.

lol, Kevin Martin is not a better winner than Mcgrady. Evans and Tompson are only two true talents in Kings. No Evans or Tompson, no deal. ;)

Bima, weren't you the one who wanted Hinrich? With Tyrus Thomas blowing up lately, and the media talking All Star, the Bulls might want to keep him. The only way they can is if they trade away at least $14M of 2010 salary to make room for his cap hold.

    Hinrich + Salmons + 210 1stR pick

It's possible that Salmons opts out next year for a longer term deal. That would make it more palatable.

And plus Spencer Hawes, who is able to run high post offense.

I dont know if this works cap wise

    2 trades

    Trade no.1

Curry and Gallanari + filler if needed
    for
    T-Mac

    Then trade no.2

Chase and next years no. 1
    for
    Anthony Randolph

The Rox get 2 very talented young players and get rid of T-Mac

The Knicks get rid of Curry and get T-Mac in addition to clearing more space for James next offseason.

The Warriors get a great prospect in Buddinger and a no.1 to help with their rebuilding project.

    Thoughts

Trade EXTRAVAGANZA! Five holiday trades to change our ways!

    1.)

    Redd + Gadzuric + pick

    for

    Tmac + Cook + Dorsey + cash

Reasoning: Both Redd and Gadzuric are overpaid players on 2 year contracts. Redd is a high character dead-eye shooter with injury problems and questionable defense, Gadzuric is a rarely used C who is 6-11. We bail out the Bucks on thier bad contracts and help them jumpstart thier rebuilding efforts at the cost of a pick and slightly more salary this year which we subsidize with cash, while filling two positions of need. Cook/Dorsey are included to get us under the cap this year. Potentially, Redd could be resigned at a much more reasonable rate in summer 2011 if he proves to work well in combination with Yao next year.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Redd/Budinger/Taylor
    Battier/Ariza
    Scola/Landry/Hayes
    Yao/Andersen/Gadzuric

    2.)

    McGrady + Dorsey + cash

    for

    Dalembert + Kapono + Speights

Reasoning: Taking back some long term salary (2 years) while filling a position of need, getting a prospect while getting under the cap this year. Dalembert is an overpaid defensive center which we could use. He isnt worth his salary but his shotblocking and rebounding would be extremely useful, especially in a game like last night in Cleveland. Kapono is a good shooter but mostly just filler for this trade. He could be swapped for other players if Philly prefers. Speights is the real prize. He is a young big man who has shown alot of versatility on the floor.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Ariza/Taylor
    Battier/Budinger/Kapono
    Scola/Landry/Hayes
    Yao/Dalembert/Speights/DA

    3.) (inspired by Leeb)

    Trevor Ariza

    for

    Rudy Gay

Reasoning: Memphis and Houston are both unbalanced at the wing positions. We have two defensive utility guys, they have 2 scoring/playmakers. It would arguably be better for both teams to make this trade. Gay has more value than Trevor, but in my opinion will be overpaid this summer if someone offers him max (~12 million). He is a RFA, but it is unclear if the money will be out there and offered to him. He currently has an extension offer from Memphis for ten million but held out to test FA. If Memphis won't match an offer of 12 million it is pointless to keep him past the deadline. Houston NEEDS a SG badly, so this could work.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Gay/Taylor
    Battier/Budinger
    Landry/Scola/Hayes
    Yao/Andersen

    4.)

    McGrady + Budinger

    for

    Richardson + Barbosa

Reasoning: We get under the cap, we fill our hole at SG and balance out our roster. The Sun is setting for Phoenix, Nash is getting older and Amare may bolt in offseason. Phoenix escapes from Richardsons contract and gets a prospect in Budinger.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Richardson/Barbosa
    Battier/Ariza
    Scola/Landry
    Yao/Hayes/Andersen

    5.)

    Bosh + Calderon + Banks

    for

    McGrady + Brooks + Scola + Cook

Reasoning: Pretty simple. We take Bosh back with Torontos bad contracts. We give up Brooks/Scola but get good fillers in the process. We also get under the cap. Our roster gets a nice mix of extremely effecient offensive and defensive players.

    Calderon/Lowry/Banks
    Ariza/Taylor
    Battier/Budinger
    Bosh/Landry/Hayes
    Yao/Andersen

McGrady for essentially Indiana's unprotected 2010 first round draft pick? That's potentially John Wall. Why not keep this hope for themselves? Pacers are one of those teams that have been losing money for years.

Cleveland wants Murphy but if they deal Big Z they want him to be bought out so he can re-sign with the Cavs after 30 days.

Rockets can get under LT if Big Z is bought out for $1M to $2M.

Indiana as they are are over the salary cap next year. Moving Dunleavy, Murphy, and Foster would free up enough cap space for a max contract as well as saving the franchise money.

I'd (personally) do that deal, although I doubt the Rockets could get that first rounder without a significant amount of protection attached to it. My only concern would be that the Rockets could lead the league in guys shooting under 40%.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Hinrich/Salmons/Taylor
    Ariza/Battier/Budinger
    Scola/Landry/Cook
    Hayes/Andersen/Dorsey/(Yao)

That's one hell of a good defensive unit, with several players considered good to great defensive players (Lowry, Hinrich, Salmons, Ariza, Battier, Hayes). They'll need all the defense they can get, what with that team also unable to hit an outside shot.

    Okur and AK for TMac

Utah gets out of AK's deal a year early and Mehmet's 2 years early.

We get an expiring deal next year in AK, and some length and Shot blocking from the SF position, and a center with Range to contrast with Yao.

Ellis and Randolph are unhappy in Golden State. Butler and Arenas aren't getting along too well, either. Everyone wins a bit in this trade I think.

    Not too realistic though. ;)

Great, then we'll have 3 guys (Ariza, Shane, AK) that are offensively inept.

Yes, it does not fix everything but it does make us better.........with Okur in the middle.

AK would be the poison pill......in this case.

Of course if you move Cbud into the starting lineup...well....all fixed.

That might be the most offensively inept starting lineup in the history of the NBA. Imagine what the starting unit's production would look like whenever Brooks does one of his disappearing acts. Decent bench, though. All the same....barf. ;)

I don't know about all fixed, Ariza, Battier, and AK are all the same type of player.

    A battarizalenko, if you will.

I can hardly stand having two on the same team, let alone three.

We need consistent scoring from the 2 to even accommodate having one of them on the court at a time...Cbud will get there, but he needs more time.

We are giving up scoring, we need to get scoring back.

    1101

Wait a minute . . . you're telling me that Kirk Hinrich isn't an offensive upgrade to Shane Battier in the Rockets' lineup???

Hate to break it to you, but the CURRENT Rockets starting lineup is more inept than that lineup.

Point (generally) well taken, though. :p

Broussard just mentioned on NBA Coast-to-Coast that the Rockets do not want Maggette.

He also said that the Rockets do not want either Curry or Jeffries, which is a no-brainer.

General aside: I, for one, do not think that Daryl Morey has any interest in Monta Ellis.

For everyone who thinks that Maggette is a ballhog, he's nothing compared to Monta. Dude is leading the league in turnovers and rarely passes the ball to anyone unless he's triple teamed.

Frankly, Ellis is not a "Morey-ball", "Adelman" or "whatever other moniker you want to give to the current roster" type of player.

    Just my two cents.
