Right... I "unjustly" love my PS3. Even though I wrote out a huge list of advantages that I realize the 360 has, while you insist that the PS3 is "worthless."

Both I and Brando have given you numerous advantages that the PS3 has, and you choose to ignore them. I readily admit the 360's advantages. I always have.

Blu-Ray is already used for games.

And as I and Brando already pointed out, having only 9GB of storage space instead of 50GB could eventually be a problem. Is this really such a hard concept?

So now you are saying that even though the discs are 50 gigs, the extra space should be used for movies. That would be the same as saying the XBOX and Playstation 2 should only use up to 700 mb on their DVD drives and leave the rest of space for DVD movies. You see what I'm saying? The playstation used a CD Drive, the PS2 upgraded to a DVD drive and designed games to take advantage of that space.

As i have already said, not all games are linear and thus could not ship on multiple discs.

I didnt ask for the 360 advantages I asked for the PS3 ones.

All reasonable EXCEPT for this one: The BC. You were an adopter who got the 60 gig i presume. PS3 sold mostly 80 and 40 gig models to date which included the 80% BC mark. Its only superior in terms of titles because theres so many but quality wise they both emulate their BC titles in the same manner.

While you do bring up the failure rate issue I wonder this: Do you even know WHY they have failed?

I would list the Blu-Ray drive as its only SIZABLE advantage and I mean that in terms of game disk size and lossless audio quality. I am a very wealthy man but I dont have an 7.1 home theater system so either way it is a WASH for the audio quality. I must say the idea of not changing disks is a NICE idea.

And on your point of the Cacheing for games on the HD of the PS3: This is mainly due to a slower drive and read speed of the BRDrive, the Xbox has a read-stream process pre loading areas and textures before they pop on the screen. The Drive process in the PS3 CANNOT do this efficiently without straining the dedicated memory being hogged by the Cell so it has to pre-load its commands and some of its files before being able to be played smoothly. Case in point is Devil May Cry 4.

 

I am attributing the reading skills being low due to many different arguments going on at the same time. I have had to have two windows open to write my replies about your comments without meshing them with earlier ones or my own.

In terms of my comprehension ability: Let's take a look at your post.

"Blu-Ray" is a type of technology. Your statement is then that games will not be used in conjunction with this format. If you were talking about the Blu-Ray add on then you sould have said, "Blu-ray add-on"

I'll say it a third time and maybe you will be gracious enough to answer me. Some games are not linear and thus cannot use multiple discs. I'm very sorry to everyone to keep this on but I can't just let it go. This thread is completely de-railed.
