Morey just pull the plug on this star chasing frenzy that you are on and build a freaking team. You don't need All-Stars at every position to win a title. Bring in Ilyasova and Thad Young and let's make some noise. Bev/Harden/Young/Ilyasova/Howard
My initial though was like your until I realized what all needed to be done in order to keep Parsons and add Bosh.
This is actually... fairly significant. Moreso than Skip Derpless and Stephen A Derp derping at each other.
Just an idea: if we match Parsons, and then LeBron decide to go to Cleveland, maybe we can propose a sign and trade to Miami: Lin+Dmo+unguarenteed contracts(Casspi, Covington)+multiple picks for Bosh.
That would be problematic as well because it would hardcap us at approx 80 million with approx 75 million committed to Parsons/Harden/Dwight/Bosh. Really hard to fill out the roster. You can't go over the hardcap by one penny.
Not saying it isn't true, but I'd be more inclined to buy this logic if the current colors were of the Miami Heat
I don't know why you guys are trying to keep parsons so bad. he's good but he's worth no where near what he wants. It would be suicide to match that offer and have to nickle and dime our way to fill the rest of our roster. For parsons its just not worth it
If we get Bosh, we'll have to Nickel and Dime our way to fill the roster anyway. You have to ask yourself, what's better to sign CP to an overrated $15mil deal, or some 3rd tier SF for the MLE? Either way we'll be in the Luxury Tax and will be somewhat hamstrung....but that's the consequence of having 3 max players on your team...
It's not about worth. It's about what we can build around Bosh. We aren't going to get a better player than Parsons if we don't match and sign Bosh. We will e capped out PERIOD.
Basically the web designer for Lebronjames.com has created a few placeholder pages with no content on them. However, the coding that is already setup uses the Cleveland Cavaliers color scheme. There is no website to look at pictures, but you can see the hex codes for the colors.
Would rather build a deeper squad around Harden/Bosh/Howard using our exceptions and trade exceptions rather than being capped out and having nothing but minimum salaries on our roster other than the big 4. It's all up to whether Miami would be willing to play ball though. Would need a S&T to help facilitate.
You wouldn't have the trade exceptions if you used cap space to sign Bosh or the MLE. You'd have vet min deals and the BAE of around 2 million. Trade exceptions have to be renounced in order to use the cap space. Edit: Saw that you mentioned S&T in your post, sorry I missed that.
