A wildcat supporting another wildcat. Heck, I almost want to say lets get Frye because of his UofA tenure... Almost. LMA or bust baby.
Don't post false info. It would have only been a 15 mil cap hit for Chicago if they chose to match. If Lin and/or Asik get traded, it's still the 8.3 cap hit, which is all that matters. I would love to get Horford, but might take a lot more than Omer.
exactly, i find it befuddling people still dont understand this. they are 'paid' 5/5/15 but the salary cap hit would be 8/8/8. even if lin were to go back to nyk and asik back to chicago.
Our paint defense is suffering big now, but we plan to trade our best internal defensive player... Someone has a bad brain.
Asik is absolutely within his right. You can bet that Morey misled him in getting him to sign here, fully knowing that he was going to go hard after Dwight. The Rockets are trying to squeeze out all the trade value from him that they can get, even at the expense of another year of his career wasting away. This isn't a 20 year-old kid, he is a 27 year-old vet who poured his heart and soul into this team last year and played very well. So for anyone to think he owes ANYTHING to the Rockets, that's laughable. It's a business on both sides and if creating a stink speeds up the process so be it. And it will speed up the process. Any loss of leverage for the Rockets is more than offset by the fear of a sour locker room. Good for Omer.
Morey mislead him, knowing he was going after Dwight. LOL Yeah, because everyone saw Dwight getting traded to the Lakers and leaving a year later. Omer can sit and pout and half ass it on the floor(although it looks like he won't get the latter opportunity) and the Rockets can let him walk in 2 years or wait for a trade of their liking.
Well what works for both sides.... But Morey is the guy that is smarter. He never goes to the media and disclose his cards Asik should just pull back his agent and remain silent.
He signed a contract with the team. Hurt feelings is a weak excuse for not putting reasonable effort into his minutes on the court, which is what he's getting paid for. The Rockets may have had future plans but they offered him a NICE chunk of change in exchange for that risk. Thank goodness Royce White isn't here to tutor Asik on stealing money. I'm not jumping to conclusions yet, though. Asik seems like a good character guy so maybe he'll continue to be a contributor until the office is able to work out a trade.
We won't get LA, Asik hasn't improved enough offensively and I think LA will want to stay at this point in time. Make the deal for Ryan Anderson, then the Jones/Dmo battle is for the back-up spot. We can use Jones at 5 at times, use Dmo or Smith as the back-up 5 until Okafor gets bought out and sign him.
Asik demanding a trade is the business side of things. He should not be punished by getting benched, unless they want to keep him out for trade purposes.
