yep. Found one of the last "5's" on there. My username is the same on there as it is on here if you're on SD. I don't really post though, just lurk and reek the deals.
Not owning a lot of things is so refreshing. I went ultra minimalist 3 years ago and I haven't looked back. I sold everything. My PlayStation, Xbox, guitars, CD's, old computers, books, even my flat screen TV. Everything I own I use, anything unused got sold. My main possession are a laptop, smartphone, desk, chair & bike. If smartphones get any smarter I might even get rid of my laptop. Now I have more money for travel, concerts & Rocket games.
Thought of a few more... margarita's at lunch on the weekends. Completely unnecessary, but who can blame a person. shoes...I have too many shoes, most of them dress. With that being said, I full intend on getting some new ones soon.
i too have gone this route a couple of years ago. i decluttered by getting rid of a bunch of belongings. most i threw in the trash, the stuff that actually provided some entertainment for others i simply gave away. the only possessions i care for are my laptop, bike, camera gear, and passport.
I probably have a completely new set of golf clubs every 2 or 3 years. It's not necessary, but I love to mess around with the new equipment. It's addicting. About $2,000 every two years
Bought this 1969 Fender Mustang a couple of years ago and got a really good deal on it... I knew at the time that it was a little investment purchase though. I still like the sound and feel of semi-hollow bodied guitars more. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=226833 I sold it for a $500 profit yesterday. I probably could have hung onto it for longer and sold it for more, but it's going to a good home.
I'm sure your wife really loved it when you tried that... I try not to make too many unnecessary purchases, but it's hard when you haven't been shopping in a while and everything tempts you. Mainly soft drinks/ sodas as well as baby stuff; there are some clothes that it seems like he hardly wears before he has outgrown them, and some toys that I think he'll like but that he mostly ignores while playing with an old sock instead and trying to get at things he shouldn't have.
WTF! LOL that thing looks insane. I'm thinking about not needing a motorcycle. It's been almost a year since I last had one.
