I'll let someone else to the AB thread. Battier was the consummate pro during his time here: played hard, did the dirty work, tried his best to be a leader. You can't ask for any more (except maybe a bit of scoring, perhaps). Great community and locker room guy, too. He will be missed... ... until he re-signs here this summer, that is! Come on back, Shane!
Shane Battier will be missed. I will admit that I would have preferred Rudy Gay on that particular draft day, but Battier made me a believer. His hard work, hustle, defense, and 3 point shooting convinced me that the Rockets made the right move. Battier has all the intangibles to be on a championship team, and I hope he gets a ring one day. He deserves one. Thanks Shane, for the great basketball you have given us in Clutch City.
A pros pro. I'll miss him as a Rocket. I still believe you have to have guys like Battier to win a title, ala Elie. It was probably the right time to move on though. Good luck To the Shaner!! Thanks for your time here.
I will never Forget the Shane p*rn Stache or When Kobe busted him open in the WCSF. Truely is a Class Act and will fit well in Memphis. Thank Battier.
Sad day for Rockets fans. The loss of Shane (arguably for crap) really dismays me. I really wish we could have gotten more, or at least sent him to a contender. This is a humongous mistake. Rockets fans begged for trades, beware what you wish for. Shane, you were a class act. I'm sorry we traded you for nothing.
People can say what they want but hes more than defense. He hit so many clutch shots in the Portland series and the Lakers series that i think hes the 2nd most important player in that year (behind yao) THANKS SHANE
And then there were to from the 22 wins streak ..shane will truely be missed can't wish he would have been trade to a contender but I'm sure he will sign with a top team this summer(or here of course) bye Shane :/
I thought he deserved better than to be sent to Memphis for a guy who is, by all accounts, a bum and an idiot. Oh well, I hope he signs with Miami in the summer and grabs a few rings before he retires. He deserves to be on a good team as a role player.
