http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Goldstein Dang, how cool would it be just to travel around and watch NBA games.
There was a Kenny Mayne on Goldstein a few months back on Esp'n the Magazine. In the interview, Kenny asked if Jim had stories of talking to players. Jim said that in game 1 of the Conference finals, David Robinson outplayed Dream. After that, Jim looked for Hakeem to give him some tips. When Dream talked to Jim, they exchanged some knowledge and Jim credits Dream's trashing of David to take the "borrowed" MVP trophy to what he said to DREAM. Do any of you believe this was the case?!?!? That was difficult for me to believe. I thought it was ALL DREAM.
I think he is just a Rockets fan bc he has been to a few games in those cheering for them. I don't think he is remotely famous, that I know of. Maybe just a local fan.
In this clip, he looks creepy. I was sitting in section 432 last night and had some binoculars. I was looking at the players and people around them and saw him standing to some lady. I just found out about him a couple of days ago by reading this very thread.
"He has also befriended several current and former NBA players, including Wilt Chamberlain, Clyde Drexler, Hakeem Olajuwon, Sam Cassell, and Dennis Rodman." Looks like he's friends with a bunch of former rockets.
http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3879154 Sounds like an interesting guy who is a hardcore NBA fan and just happens to have the resources to travel all over the country and see the big games.
Man I wish I had the ability to do what this guy does. Does anybody know if he goes to games by himself? It seems like it, but I don't know. That would kinda suck.
apparently Rudy T would get mad in the 90s when this guy didnt come to practice and sit courtside during the playoffs- he has a long relationship with the team i guess
It looks like he is rooting for the Rockets along with the weird guy that always sits next to him. They were at the Lakers game cheering for the Rockets behind the baseline.
