I would only consider Shaq an idiot if he was to disagree with Hollinger's ranking of the duo being 2nd best only to Magic/Kareem.

On his appearance with Stephen A. Smith two weeks before All-Star Weekend, he said that they could have won 6 or 7 championships together. I would say, more like 5 or 6, if anything.

For anyone who wants to see what people on Lakersground.net have to say about the due, here's the thread on that forum concerning this same article. Right now, no replies on this thread, but many people are out to lunch on the west coast at the time I'm submitting this thread, so that is probably the reason there.

Also, here's a link to my thread concerning Shaq's comments on his feud with Kobe two weeks prior to All-Star Weekend with a couple of links to his appearence with Stephen A. Smith.

It should be noted that this is his top 5 Lakers duos of all time.

    Because everybody knows Dream/Glide is #1 all-NBA.

Yes, I'll agree on that since the article is only talking about the Laker duos that teamed together.

This only goes to showing everyone that the Lakers have had their fair share of duos team together throughout the history of their franchise while most other teams around the league haven't had any such thing.

As for Dream/Glide, if only they teamed together at some time during the 1980s (starting in 1984-85), it's hard to say how anyone could rank that one because it's possible there could have been a storied rivalry between the Lakers and the Rockets throughout much of the 1980s and into the early 1990s.

The 1986 Rockets will probably go down as the best team put together in its history because you had Ralph Sampson and Hakeem Olajuwon teaming together to help the Rockets knock off the Lakers in that WCF. I'm not sure how Dream/Clyde without Sampson would have done against the Lakers in the 1980s because they would have needed a strong front line to help control the boards to help keep the Lakers' running game in check.

I'd say no way since they never could win a playoff series together. I'd sure like to know if there was any other good-looking duo in league history that never won a playoff series that you or anyone could consider among the top 10.
