Domestic violence is not “falling short”. Heroin addicts and thieves are FAR better people imo. You might fall into a drug habit and steal to get money to feed your habit, but there’s zero excuse to beat a woman. Ever. To me it’s unforgivable
Wasn't Tari recently posting himself at a boxing gym (link). I guess boxing training OK, but not actual boxing.
Not really normal that in the first week all information was out and then 2 weeks of absolute no updates or anything. Other than Stanley Johnson who is not signed yet, no NBA player commented like they fear bad optics...... It is not going away if you keep it air tight.
This isn't a good look for the NBA. There's no reason for league officials to talk about this again until they have to, and he can't be punished if he's not yet guilty of committing a crime.
They have not talked about it lol.....oh Silver dropped one 'This is horrific' so there is no 'again'...... You probably meant there is no reason to start talking about it.
The NBA doesn't care about the rockets/players. The Poole punch got more sparks. This is crazy with media day coming so soon. They want a circus.
As has been stated a bunch of times when we were all playing lawyer earlier this week the NBA and team aren't bound by the court system, they're explicitly allowed to act especially in Domestic Violence cases. By my reading, the team and the league could both formally suspend him with pay effective immediately. And the Rockets can waive him at any time.
Having dealt with the legal system in regard to my son being victimized, as much as you want the legal system to give the perpetrator a swift kick in the nuts, that kick is a long time coming in a court of law. Bad people have rights too... The NBA has to follow a process too.
In Primo's case it was internal and Spurs knew it after a while and then kept the league in the dark ......
Not sure if it’s a bad look necessarily. More frustrating to us as rockets fan, sure. But I doubt there will be much backlash as long as his future in the NBA is adjudicated before the start of the regular season
Primo wasn't with a team and had been waived before the start of the season, there was no need to issue a suspension last year. I presume he's attempting to resurrect his NBA career, which the league said "fine, 4 game suspension" Also, as disturbing as the allegations against PRimo were, IIRC he wasn't charged with a crime.
from what I remember, Primo came with some loose-fitting shorts to a counseling session with a female counselor, and his junk was dangling… There is a absolutely zero grounds to compare that to a girl that’s been beaten and sent bleeding to a hospital. That’s a good example of how over-sensitization of society does more harm than good. The lines between horrible crimes and nothingburgers get blurred. Tonight on your local news: Crimes against women on the rise. A girl was raped, beaten and murdered, and another girl had to listen to her BF mansplaining something about the Roman Empire! Our team takes a closer look at 10!
