A better question: What do we do when (not if) Tucker's tank finally dries up? I understand the all-in small ball concept. But if I recall correctly, it was mainly because Westbrook can't shoot from outside. So we are committing our whole team building direction to fit a 32-year-old guy who's game is 90% dependent on athleticism.
I was so excited about his possibilities with experience, and more minutes on the court. I really liked Harty. He never sulked on that bench, was always rooting and cheering for the team, and really seemed like a great guy. Our small ball or nothing approach pretty much killed his development in the big league. I really hope he goes to a team that can develop him into a great NBA player. I wish him the best wherever he goes. Honestly, it's been the story of the Rockets for a few years now. We don't have time to develop you young bucks any more. We need experience. Then they trade off a group of them for experienced players nearing retirement. Regardless, some of my favorite rosters included a lot of the old, experienced, and "Who is he?" type players. Who knows, Harty might return one day if small ball becomes a thing of the past in Houston. When he's nearing retirement maybe.
The title teams had played together 3 plus years and then took off. We are constantly retooling and not developing anyway thats why we don't have the chemistry some of the other contenders have on their rosters.
Rockets cut one of the worst 50-75 players in the league with about 0% chance of playing and negligible chance of being picked up and played anywhere else. Clutchfans: the sky is falling
Most of the times I like morey. Harty is the only young prospect I like that we have and now this. Dumb move
Hope Frankenstein finds a team that's willing to give him a shot/role! IMHO, I think he belongs in the league. Go Rockets!!! ....... ....... .......
We had issues with the Center position since Yao Ming retired and have always had issues with a serviceable PF since we traded Horry ( probably an unnamed cursed revenge) so it's safe to say we no longer want tall players who can't effectively move well and shoot well. All in with the Westbrook/Harden combo, they desperately need to keep PJ Tucker or get someone else as good or better or the Rockets are dooooooommed. Not enough 2 way players that'll play enough D on this team.
He had zero chances of playing, but that's not the point. Getting out rebounded by 30 in the Knicks game is. We need someone who can help us out on the boards at the very least. IH isn't that guy. Bruno is a softy, and we don't need injured players on the bench.
