Yes. Funny that the Netherlands are the one who think coronavirus isn't their problem only the South's problem and they veto more support from the EU. By this time next week they will have changed their tune dramatically. Nice. It is like SK's tests with only 70% sensitiivity. Our CDC here is still insisting on only using "proper" tests with 100% sensitivity but in desperate times we need desperate measures. I hope they realise this soon enough! The following week will be crucial. Keep strong @Gdaliya! Belgians who have followed the orders of the state and isolated themselves will be safe. You have locked down very early so it will start showing. But got to shut down the land border with the Netherlands and the flights. Don't let anyone come. Repatriation flights can be arranged and arrivals quarantineed in hotels where they won't kill others with their virus.
According to the reporters from Italy, Southern Italy is now bracing for the wave to hit them. The hospitals there are filling fast. Puglia and Campania are complaining because all the ventilators are going to the North and they only got 5.
Pulmonary inflammation/severe pneumonia, X ray pics from a man (above) and CT pics from a woman from Wuhan.... Spoiler
The scientist who made the "famous" study about hydroxychloroqinue is in war with the French government. Macron and their CDC have many doubts about his methodology and now he publicly refuses to take part in the scientific council and sent a letter to the newspapers and media accusing them. He went back to the Marseilles clinic to keep up his trials. From what I understand his issue is that they don't put all their trust in him and want only to use a few hundreds people for his trials. While the french CDC wants also to have trials with other medicine like intereferone, ebola etc
Sorry if already posted, but this is a very well-reported article. Not pretty but sets out what we logically have to do in the US. https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/03/how-will-coronavirus-end/608719/
@malakas @LosPollosHermanos my apologies i misheard the euro doctor, she said azithromycin NOT erythromycin. she confirmed what the american doc said about its antiviral properties recently established. she says tamiflu being given to her milder cases as well
As someone that used to do CT for a living, just believe me - those are bad. Worse than most cancer patients's lungs.
I'm starting to think that we're all going to catch this virus. And hope you live and not die I guess.
Just covers past epidemics, how transmission occurs across multiple species, why bats are such good reservoir hosts for viruses, the likelihood of this virus affecting household pets like dogs, and why past outbreaks like SARS and Ebola were better contained than this current epidemic.
