If the players hadn't been granted immunity, they likely don't talk. And if their union gets involved, they likely drag out any/all punishments/suspensions with endless appeals and hearing after hearing.
People calling for suspensions are hilarious. Several teams are cheating on some level and the MLB surely knows about some of them. What happens if MLB suspends astros players and subsequently more teams get outed? Will MLB have to suspend half the league? The draft kingz class action lawsuit is interesting and might cause more teams to get outed.
https://www.chron.com/sports/astros...-Keuchel-Astros-apology-cheating-15002211.php "It's just what the state of baseball was at that point in time. Was it against the rules? Yes it was. And I personally am sorry for what's come about the whole situation," Keuchel told a group of reporters. He also added that it was “not like every game we had it going on”. News of the Astros using a camera to steal signs and relay those signs to the batter by banging a trash can were brought to light by former Astros pitcher Mike Fiers. Keuchel said Fiers going on the record and talking about what went on in the Astros clubhouse is a "tough subject." “It sucks to the extent that the clubhouse rule was broken,” he said. “I mean and that’s where I’ll go with that. I don’t have much else to say about Mike.” Keuchel said he expects his former teammates to eventually come out with statements as well. "A lot of guys are not happy with the fact that Mike came out and said something or the fact that this even happened, but at the same time there is some sorrow in guys’ voices," Keuchel said. "I have talked to guys before and this will be going on for a long time and I’m sure in the back of guys minds this’ll stay fresh.”
Don't apologize. You're sorry but it's not enough. You're sorry but it's insincere/fake. "If you're truly sorry, you'll vacate the title." Apologize & ask for forgiveness? ...
Lost complete control of the club? I don’t believe that for a second. Luhnow is a very smart man and he never lost control of the club. Luhnow knew EXACTLY what he was doing by not replying or moving the memo along. He KNEW who Taubman really was. He could’ve put an end to any of the shady things going any second he wanted but instead continued to go rogue. He knew all of it and risked everything
I don’t like players apologizing for this. No need. It feeds the bullshit that this is some massive scandal. It isn’t.
How come no one posts the Keuchel quotes that matter? Everyone was doing it. 6 out of 8 teams had multiple signs. They were used in non Astros games. All these faux journalists are too scared their own team will be indicted or investigated so they stick to the quotes that shame Astros.
Exactly. Astros players should own up to it but not apologize. Follow it up with calling out those who are throwing stones in their glass houses. Fiers should be called out for the hypocritical ******* he is.
