Vince wanted/wants to end his career playing for us. It was very close to happening until our pursuit of Iggy put his deal on hold. Vince even spoke to MDA about his usage rate etc.
I always wanted to see VC on a contender in his prime. I feel like he is underrated as a player. People just see him as a dunker. He wasn’t ever on any teams I feel like had a real chance to win it all. People kind of see him as a loser because of this and it’s not fair to him.
After the injuries he had early in his career, it's amazing he's lasted this long. He did change his game as he got older, he adapted with his declining athleticism and still can play. He's one of my favorite players ever, I always wanted him in a Rockets jersey.
Nah I think its pretty fair he also coasted a lot on his talent like Tmac. He had way more talent than somebody like say Kobe and could have been just as good as a two player like Kobe. He had several chances to play on good teams like Kidd Nets or Dwight Magic or Dirk Mavs. In retrospect he could have been one of the most gifted players ever considering he was also blessed with amazing health having no major injuries despite him jumping and landing all over the place. Anyway I still remember his Nike commercial during his Toronto days that got me pretty hyped to watch expensive shoes when I was a kid.
Hou crowd popped for him when he entered the game for ATL. He seemed genuinely grateful (maybe a little surprised). Enough so for this tweet after. Vince said it's his final year. Looks like he's soaking it in. It'd be nice to see him as a broadcaster if he's into it.
