Scoring 128 and allowing 127.5? Doesn't matter Brian. 3-1 Brian. Sitting 3rd in the West Brian. Southwest Division Champs Brian.
Tiny differential and all our wins against mediocre or bad teams. They haven't been great so far, but that's to be expected. It's great news that they are not bad right now, because there is no doubt this team has a higher potential for in-season improvement than most contenders. There's no reason Davis and Lebron won't fit. No reason George and Kawhi won't fit. Those teams don't have structural question marks. We do, but being good enough to beat average teams when the spacing and defense should still be a mess is very good news. Excited to see how this team is playing 15-20 games into the season, and if we're not in a hole by then, we'll have a great shot at 1st seed.
i do see the issues of 1) they won't be able to stay healthy and 2) lebron cannot carry a team anymore as the 1st option while davis has never shown he can be the 1st option, especially in the final minutes of close games
Those are not what I call structural problems. Their games fit because they can both score from everywhere, and they can both defend when the playoffs come. Our two stars are average defenders at best, and one of them can't shoot while the other one has been mediocre off the ball so far. I also don't think it matters if Lebron/AD miss 20-30 games each. Virtually no one in NBA history can carry a team to a title mostly alone. There's like 1 person every 15 years who does it. It's not a requirement for winning a title. They have a great team imo.
a win is a win and 3-1 is better than 1-3. Yes the defense needs work. yes we could use a few different pieces but the foundation is solid and expectations are high and we have 2 legit MVPs on the team. enjoy the ride.
Neither of those teams has ball handling point guards that force defensive matchup issues. That IS a structural question mark.
