Some recent ones would be Inglorious Basterds, Sicario, Man from uncle. Ive seen each probably 6 times for a pure entertainment value
Absolutely. I remember being in elementary school and we would have "urban cowboy day" where we would all wear boots and belt buckles. Then we would learn the Cotton Eyed Joe in PE class. "JUST GET ME A BEER!!!" Sorry everyone, we'll stop now.
I went to Gilley's a couple of times in the early '70's, because my cousin and his group of beer guzzling friends (we called them the Animals, which they didn't mind a bit) dragged me there. Being a long haired hippie at Gilley's was a trip, I can tell you. Luckily, I was surrounded by a bunch of friendly drunk lunatics that I had known for years. It didn't hurt that I was also high as a kite. I learned always to take my own car when I was hanging out with my cousin so I could escape, as needed.
A co-worker that grew up in Clear Lake went to Gilley's on a school field trip...in elementary school. "YOU BROKE MY ******* ARM!" Last one. Promise.
Somehow I missed this thread. Probably during my crazy 'business business business' time consuming runup. I have to say...who the F wrote this? Some lady? Matrix, Pulp Fiction, Lord of the Rings, Goodfellas and possibly some Marvel Movie marathon with Avengers Infinity War & Endgame really are a 'daily' thing I could do. I mean, think about it- DAILY? Some of these movies sound like hell to watch on a daily basis. I think watching nude pre-anorexic Jennifer Connelly on a daily basis is a requirement for a Masters in Manliness.
Any list that does not have commando simply isnt a list. cf slipping cmon people. I usually watch this a few times a month if i can. Tsk tsk for the double sting of forgetting about predator Also predator has gotten even more watchable. around viewing 300-400 it becomes more about dutch's backstory. Of course billys story also is more heavily featured. its as much what the camera doesnt show as does show. If i was really filthy rich I would probably have one room set up like a rustic cabin but with all creature comforts. With just the good the bad the ugly playing on loop. I would end in that room howard hughes style This is actually the winner although as many times as Ive seen it, from very beginning might be in low 2 to 3 hundreds whereas commando ive seen 65,237 times. Im sure youve like spies like us another all timer I forget to get to again
My dad took me several times as a kid (9 years old) around 1981. I remember thinking I was cool for drinking Roy Rogers, had no idea what it was. I played video games non stop probably before I was old enough to understand why we were really there.
Funny how I think they finally, finally, quit showing "Forrest Gump" every week on TNT / TBS. "Pulp Fiction" is on the OP list....good! Awesome acting, dialogue, out-of-sequence etcetera. "I gotta stab her three times?" "No, you don't have to stab her three times....." The actual best film of 1994 in my opinion (a list including "Gump", "Shawshank Redemption", "Lion King"....)
You haven’t seen it? It’s one of those flicks I watch whenever I see it on premium cable (and streaming, these days). It's a real trip, and an excellent film.
Not a top pick but Gone Girl is surprisingly rewatchable. I don't set out to watch it but when it's on it's hard to change the channel. I think it just has great pacing + interesting story + good cinematography so it's easy to get sucked in.
