Read Daryl, I never said she didn't help build Amazon. What I argued was that instead of half a settlement should be sought in the 200 mil - 1 billion range because if he gives her half of the value of Amazon it will kill Amazon. In order to pay her the half you're advising Bezos would have to sell shares that compromise his ownership stake devaluing the company. I know how it works in Washington (community property) and they had no prenup but I'm saying that in the interest of the business that she "helped" create, a settlement is the best solution, that's what his lawyers should be advocating imo
This is nonsense - they don't have to sell shares of Amazon. He could hand them over to her, and they could set an agreement of how quickly could be liquidated (ie, no more than 1 billion per year or whatnot) or assign her voting rights to him or whatever else. There are plenty of solutions that don't involve "sorry, I get to keep all the money because it's inconvenient to Amazon.com".
So you don't think a ceo liquidating his ownership stake or forfeiting voting rights will not devalue the company? Smh. Its not just about keeping all the money, the company has to be valued before they can split assets. That valuation is with him as ceo, if he were to divest or cede control of the company the value would drop giving her less money and less conceived control. Most if not all of his assets are liquid, he doesn't have 150 billion in the bank so he would have to sell assets to pay her in a 50/50 split. And since when is a 200 mil - 1 billion dollar settlement not a good deal?
Outrage for what? Lol you're still following me after my little rant. Get over it. Don't you have some PT to attend to? Also, she's entitled to everything she gets. You on the other hand shouldn't receive a dime.
LOL! You're so good for a laugh. Thanks for the entertainment while I lay here in PT with the muscle stim and a heat pack.
Please update the others via the Hangout. I'm sure they will all be overjoyed to hear your PT status updates! Be careful with the heat pack. You may end up "accidentally" burning yourself or maybe you have already? Better call Saul....
When it isn't as much as she's legally entitled to. I'm not saying this can't affect AMZN's share price, but them's the breaks. A married CEO in a community property state who owns 16% of the company presents a small risk that "should" be built into the stock's price.
Whelp, time to get the pooper bleached. I always said 'it would cost a LOT to get in there' and Jeff has the cash.
Touche. Moderation is the key to happiness, but if I had my choice, it would be bundles of cash. You know what would never get old though? Driving a lambo to the moon.
You half his fortune x4 and he is still loaded and will continue to make billions until the end of time. Who cares?
I believe Bezos (pre-divorce) and Gates would own more wealth than the bottom half of America. What good is it for single individuals to own this much wealth in our society?
