Meanwhile we lost Ariza cause we didn't want to pay $15 mil, are lowballing Clint, and now just lost Luc. We have no SF, but hey at least Chris Paul is getting paid more than Durant (who took a paycut btw when he could have asked for more).
This is a dumb way of looking at it, as it avoids many levels of context, but yes...terrible offseason and we took a huge step back.
We aren't paying anyone. If Tilman wanted to own a team that was facing these luxury tax issues, he should have been prepared. Le$$ knew what he was doing.
Luc and Ariza had their chance to get themselves paid... By showing up when it counts. You can find guys that can play defense.
Enough of these Chris Paul got 40 million threads. You guys are like a broken ******* record. We wouldn't of been a true threat to the warriors without CP.
When your best player takes less money, it sends a message to the rest of the guys that it's about sacrificing some dollars in order to win. When your best player who hasn't stayed healthy for a full season yet takes the max, it sends a message to the rest of the guys that it's time to get theirs.
I know right if Chris Paul wouldn’t have taken 40 mil we’d have more of the MLE and cap space to spend on whoever we wanted... even though we wouldn’t
Depends on how much Luc signed for. He didn't have surgery on his shoulder that will pop out via dunk. The Rockets obviously had his medicals. So that is really all you need to know.
When one of your best players is an important part of the Player's Union you can't take less money, you know that. But of course it wouldn't give you a chance to complain about something.
It's a convenient excuse. But if that is the reason, are you saying that Chris Paul is HAPPY that his teammates are looking out for their bank accounts over winning?
Chris Paul carried this team in the playoff and went the closest to touch a ring in the last 20+ years of this franchise history. He absolutely deserved to be the highest paid player in this team.
he sacrificed 10 mil to come here last summer, yet here u are counting his pockets and complaining that he didn’t sacrifice again...be thankful that he didn’t try and get that 5th year The most Ariza had ever earned in a single year was 8.6 mil. PHX offered him 15 mil with the chance to be a free agent next summer when the market will be better and more teams will have cap space, and u expect him not to take it? Rockets could’ve retained Moute, but it seems like they want to use their MLE on Melo.
