I strongly believe that Les Alexander is somewhere swimming in a pool of money he got from China, then he's going to take a shower from all the money Tilman gave him to buy the team.
This is such a joke lol. Only city to have a city jersey have absolutely nothing to do with the city. So many creative and cool designs out there for other teams and we get ****ing Chinese characters smh. Unbelievable. Hopefully this is corrected ASAP. Le$ is laughing somewhere.
What in the ****? How does this represent Houston? I'm guessing Les pulled the trigger on this before Tillman bought the team.
Now I’m logged in and I hate the “city” jersey. An absolute embarrassment to the city of H-town. City of Champions!!!!!!!
want to design a rockets uniform? first, get a ruler. second, just re-use an old design someone else made. Represent!
looks like Harden is gonna wear Vol 2 for the first time today also, since he has the red Vol 2 to match the jersey
For Les, not the city. That jersey has absolutely nothing to do with Houston. So glad that guy is out of here.
It would be nice to see people in Houston wearing Rockets gear. Who is going to buy and wear that crap? Nobody in OUR city. Maybe people in China. Clearly what was best for Les wasn't always what was best for Houston. I think things are different now. What is best for Houston is what's best for Fertita, Landrys, Kemah, Galveston, etc. I think he would rather see a kid wear Rockets gear at the Kemah boardwalk than Beijing. I honestly believe Les would prefer the opposite.
FWIW, I did some digging and put together a jersey FAQ thread on Twitter... here's the explanation I got on some of the more common questions. With the Chinese "City" jersey issue, turns out the Rockets intended the black Houston jerseys to be their "City" version... but because of more stringent rules in the new Nike/NBA contract, that meant they could not have been worn until later in the season. Because they wanted to start wearing the blacks as early and often as possible (in November), they had to designate them as the third set and something else as the City. That ended up being the Chinese jerseys.
TBH, I prefer the black jerseys over last year's Clutch City ones. The black ones are clean AF, and the best ones we've had since '94-'95
