Capela has been extremely solid this year. He used to be a liability at the free throw line and incapable of creating a play for himself, but he's made strides in both categories. The only lingering question is whether he's capable of playing starter minutes and keeping up his production but that's only a matter of time. I don't know if we'll be able to upgrade his position. Cousins, Gobert, and Gasol aren't available. DJ and Drummond would be a lateral move or a step back. What would a max extension for Clint look like? That might be what it takes.
yes theres people on this board that hate clint despite everything that's positive about him and his continued improvement. He has as much of an impact as the other "star" bigs in the league and that's without any ego or drama. Ill take that on my team any day
that defense on love, who drove the right baseline on him for his easiest layup of the year, was pathetic
No one shall ever underestimate Capela, X-Factor efforts. DPOY Capela and MVP tonight against Cavs Dont @ME when he wins a DPOY
Not at all. Why would I fume? As long as he's a Rocket I want him to play to the utmost of his ability and I want him to be hyped big time. This is actually perfect. He's caught the attention of the national media with his efficiency. He is playing well. He's playing better than he ever has. And he's probably playing at the peak or almost the very peak of his ability with his weaknesses being minimized and his strengths being maximized. And the sales and marketing campaign has been terrific. The third star player, etc. etc. It's absolutely perfect. This organization has done a terrific job of maximizing his trade value by projecting him as a great player, even going so far as to say he's the third team star. That puts him ahead of Gordon. And I sure hope the Lakers or the Bulls or Phoenix or the Pels are licking their chops to have him on a relatively low cap hold this summer. I'm hoping that we can sell somebody on Capela's greatness so we can pull off another heist. Can't wait.
Perfect timing!! He’s only 21 guys, think about how much he can still grow. I have a feeling Morey would still trade him though..
Nope. He’s actually 23. I think the espn article mentioned Morey saying they are willing to pay to keep Capela.
