Rockets won't have any fire power to compete with Thunder / Warriors. I won't mind if Thunder knock out the Warriors.
I'm going to step back from this crap. How does Presti grab George and Anthony with NOTHING? Maybe Morey has other players in mind. Or maybe he really just out-clevered himself. I don't know. I don't know how much better we might have been with Anthony. I like our off-season pickups. I just don't know why the other GMs like to blow Sam Presti so much.
I love this. Melo was never our best big three possibility and Morey can still do magic in the near future. Indeed a lesson for the people who kept saying he’s ours 100% throughout this whole thing!
I am not optimistic. We gave all of assets to acquire Chris Paul. Melo was our best shot and we strike out.
lol I think people are severely overrating melo. I like the guy and wanted him but okc doesn't scare me. That's 3 traditionally me first guys.
I said this in the other thread, but if Westbrook doesn't sign the super max, I could honestly see Presti trading all three stars before the deadline. I'm sure he could add crazy assets to start over. Keep them from paying the tax. They aren't good enough to win it all.
LMAO! This feels like every other year. Rockets miss out on a BIG trade target then go on to surprise everyone during the regular season Presti.. wow... The league does not want to make the Rockets better.. ****ing ridiculous!!!!
Retaining CP3 was already tough so with Melo next year our depth would’ve gone to ****. I never cared much for Melo. I do care about that OKC not giving up a damn thing twice while we gave up a whole lot.
Houston When you give a 4 year $80 million contract to an often injured 3pt specialist that can only knock down the 3 ball on the road in the playoffs it comes back to haunt you.
i predicted this, all yall called me crazy. The NBA was not gonna approve a trade for Melo to Houston. OKC this offseason just cant seem to do wrong. Not even 24 hours after melo opens his trade list and he is traded for trash just like Paul George, the hawks offered 4 first rounders for Paul george and the nba league office said NO...hahahah. This league is rigged, i dont know why i still watch. Probably the same reason i still watch pro wrestling The simple answer would be to say morey overpaid for cp3, and we probably could have kept dekker or harrell and used them for the melo trade, but whos to say the league would have approved a trade with cp3 that didnt include those 2 players
So much with the "no one wants to play with Russ" thing. I still think the Rockets are much more versatile and better. But it's interesting to see Vegas' adjusted predictions after this.
Bulls traded Taj Gibson, Doug McDermott and a 2018 2nd round draft pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Joffrey Lauvergne, Anthony Morrow and Cameron Payne. Thunder trade McDermott, 2018 2nd round pick & Kanter for Carmelo Thunder trade Domantas Sabonis & Victor Oladipo to Indiana for Paul George. Clippers trade Chris Paul for Patrick Beverley, Sam Dekker, Montrezl Harrell, Darrun Hilliard, DeAndre Liggins, Lou Williams, Kyle Wiltjer, $661k cash and a 2018 1st round draft pick.
This is really really really bad for the Rockets. I won't read anything about the NBA in the couple of days just to pull myself together. Oh my goodness.
