Yes fire BB. Problem is we have almost zero assets to rebuild. One of the worst coaching hire disasters in NFL history. Let's remember that McNair and Rick only interviewed one other guy: Lovie Smith, and that was only to satisfy the Rooney rule.
We have players, we need a system that gets the most out of them. It's like McHale using harden vs. DAntoni using harden.
Eh, it is one game in the end. 0-1, half the league will be 0-1. I don't think that it is ever helpful to fire your coach mid-season... Although yes, this is his make or break year or should be.
It is just beginning. Jacksonville is the only one in our division that won. Long season. As far as Dwayne Brown, trade him or cut him. He didn't show when it mattered; left his teammates high and dry.
LOL. Multiple playoff appearances/division titles coming off of a 2-14 season = "one of the worst coaching hire disasters in NFL history". Does anyone take this poster seriously?
Don't know much about coaching/BOB, but PatDStat is roasting BOB on twitter. He's one of the more level-headed Texans football minds. That in and of itself is alarming. Just one game but holy cow what a bad start.
Jags looked like the best team in the division today at least. Titans lost to 'a really good team though...the Colts...Colts looked worse than us...
The defense looked terrible. We know Bortles is terrible yet Jax ran the ball down our throats. Let's now watch the plethora of posters who said "the only good thing about this team is the defense and BOB has nothing to do with it" now blame BOB for that also. Jax looks like a good team.
It's how we lost that bothers me. Bobs gameplan was garbage. His so called system is garbage. He is no qb whisper or offensive genius. I hope we don't ride out his contact. I'd give him till week 6, if we're not 5-1 give him the boot! I agree with you on the coaching change mid season but enough is enough .
Yeah, agreed. I mean I'd only fire him if by week 6 we were 1-5 or 0-6...then there is nothing gained keeping him around and nothing lost either. If we are still in the chase for the division, I'd let him see it out. Never know what happens, we've seen teams limp into the playoffs and ride whatever wave they can to the superbowl before.
If the Texans go 6-10 or 5-11.... AND Smith and BOB aren't both gone, then there is no hope for the Texans as long as Bob and Cal own the team. 2016 Osweiler and losing a #2 2017 use a 2018 #1 to move up... If Smith or BOB survive there is ZERO accountability.
No... it starts with ownership that really is satisfied going 9-7 and winning their division. Ownership that cares more about what other owners think than winning. Ownership that values the personal relationship with the GM more than winning. Texans fans are left hoping McNair lucks into hiring a Bill Parcells or Bill Bellichek type coach or lucks into a first ballot Hall of Fame QB. Only other hope is that Cal takes over and actually wants to win rather than being chummy with other billionaires.
