They say that Tarick is Blacker the Berry the sweeter the juice.... I say the darker the Black the stronger the boards... To all those teams with out an all star, Morey cares if nobody else cares... You gotta keep ya head up....
If you are not saying it's a priority, then we have nothing to argue about. The whole reason I'm arguing with you is that you singled out the 4 as the position of your big worry. I mean, here is our "hopeful" vet lineup: 5: Capela/Nene/Black 4: Melo/Ariza/Tucker 3: Ariza/Tucker/Harden 2: Harden/Gordon/Tucker 1: CP3/Harden By your definition of "not that deep," we are "not that deep" everywhere. I never said not to add quality veterans on the cheap if they wanted to join us for the vet min. Where did you get that? I'm saying we don't have an especial worry at the 4. If anything, the 1 is the bigger worry you ought not to feel safe about. Sure, a vet 4 would be nice, as would a vet 2/3, and a vet 5, but they are all luxuries. 5 is probably a bigger worry even among those, considering that Nene will probably be sitting out back-to-back games again, so just one injury to either Capela or Black, and you are already looking at Onooakoo for rotation minutes. As far as the "ideal defensive matchup" goes, if you are pitching the likes of Boris Diaw and Marreese Speights (your proposed additions at 4) for defensive matchups against better, longer offensive 4s, then you may as well just shoot yourself in the head right now. Speights is a terrible defender who'll have trouble guarding Onooakoo. Diaw is a little better but playing him "for defensive matchup purposes against the better, longer offensive PFs" is something only Dwane "I put in Bargnani for defensive matchup and rebounding purposes" Casey can say with a straight face.
I know Morey likes to sign players brothers, but do you really think he's going to sign two of James and P.J.'s brothers, and one of Ariza's? That's 5 brothers. Well if he does, warmly welcome Zames and Jarkieff Harden, Z.J. Tucker and P.Kieff Tucker, and Zrevor Ariza! FOH.
good signing. nene going down might have ended our season since we didn't have any other bigs to throw out there. black solves that issue and helps nene rest and stay healthy for the playoffs. we need a similar insurance plan for cp3 who tends to miss a lot of games, but we only have the vet minimum to use now. i see the depth chart like this: capela-nene-black ryno-???-qi ariza-tucker-troy harden-ego-brown cp3-???-taylor give me speights, beasley or bass at PF and sergio rodriguez or barbosa at PG for the vet min and we've got 60 wins for sure. get that melo trade done and we're looking at low-mid 60's with a punchers chance against the warriors.
If he did. He would produce. He's not Harrell dumb , he produces. Can't imagine him failing with paul n harden.
For what team? Warriors are not long outside of Durant n McGee. We needed bangers. Tarik will surprise ppl.
Those are the players themselves, not different players with the same names. That's how you have 7/8-man rotations.
Gasol is all I would have wanted. Fits the mold for what we need. The rest would get in the way or couldn't mesh. I understand your take tho.
Black is longer than you think. Wingspan nearly 7'3'' http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Tarik-Black-5711/
We have no real need for a backup PG. Harden or Paul will be on the court at all times. Gordon is the only backup guard we need unless there is a major injury.
I'm on the Tarik Black bandwagon. I watched quite a few lakers games. He's exactly what we need. He has great hands under the rim. Trust me he will not be a rocket in 2 years because someone will overpay him. Paul is going to feed him so many easy buckets.
