Oh man, if just one of those left handed shots from god land it could mean lights out for Money. McGregor wins by default solely based off the payday. He'll most likely get his face boxed off, but watch out if one of those lefty hammers sneaks it's way through.
For sure. Both fighters win big in terms of getting paid. As far as the fight, McGregor basically can't lose since he'll be a heavy underdog. Sure it's not impossible but I suspect he'll do close to no damage and it'll be a snooze fest. I'll still check it out.
Rumors are a $200 million payout to the fighters before PPV -- 125 for Mayweather 75 million for Conner. That is insane money -- Mayweather may be a billionaire within a decade.
I won't be paying for this fight either. If it were GGG vs Mayweather, I'd buy it just to see Mayweather lose. But I'm not interested in any fight except Mayweather-GGG, if that fight ever happens. Floyd will not get anymore of my money.
How is this any different than thunderlips vs rocky ? =) they might as well have McGregor win the first fight so they can extend to three matches
Half of those shots Kovalev complained about were actually low blows...although Kovalev was gassing though and Ward's actual legit body shots had a lot to do with that.
Yo those look low blows. Don't trust these bias commentators, especially Roy Jones. I didn't have a horse in this race, I'm just calling it as I see it. btw Kovalev was hurt from the right hand so I guess I don't really have a problem with it. Credit to Ward.
There were definitely some borderline shots, and I do think some low ones that weren't called as such. Especially those at the end when Kov is hunched over. So hard to tell with the camera angle and the fact that he's hunched over, but those last couple definitely looked on da junk. The one earlier in the round could have been easily determined to be low. Either way, I was surprised at the stoppage. I would have expected a standing 8 since ref could have said Kov was sitting on the ropes. Should have done that, and if Ward finishes him, no controversy. If Kovalev maintains, he's lost the round 10-8 in a very close fight, and then we see what happens. Edit: Was doing some more reading, and apparently there was no standing 8 rule with the unified rules, BUT a knockdown could have been ruled since Kov was on the ropes. My post still holds I think, but there is a distinction between standing 8 and a KD being ruled b/c of the ropes.
