To me it seems to be the worst crowd in the postseason, every year. It seems it is once again this year, but by how much margin? Lower bowl seats empty, not as loud as other places when we're playing well, etc. Even the owner had to lower concession prices to try and get more fanfare. Or am I just being overly sensitive?
Toyota Center Lower Bowl - Corporate seats for the casual fan who doesn't care much about Rockets and doesn't know much about basketball - usually empty Toyota Center Upper bowl - For the hardworking real fans who follow the team closely and ride and die with the Houston Rockets - crowded Toyota Center Restrooms - Crowded during half time - you will find @swyyyguy mopping the floors
I posted in the wrong thread...was talking about how our superstar is getting abused by the refs...you know they one you said that you "hate". Little b
They should make the whole crowd Red Rowdies. Every other team the Rockets play in the playoffs has a better crowd.
houston is not a basketball city. let it be the 9-7 texans who never won a championship like the rockets and it would be jumpin.
Ticket prices are too high. You get a better deal driving to San Antonio getting a hotel and still save money.
I posted this in the game thread as well but I mean we have sucked so can't get too mad. But what does suck is the empty seats in the lower bowl (not behind the goals by the expensive seats) which are purchased by corporations. And I see this first hand with my company. We have known that there would be a game 4 in Houston for about a wk if not longer. They literally send an email that there are lower level tickets available for game 4 at 3 pm on Friday afternoon that must be used for business purpose. Really? You are gonna send that email out at 3pm on a Friday when almost everyone is gone for the weekend at that point already? Not only that but to find a counterparty that late makes it even harder. And I am sure my company isn't the only one. This is one of the reasons the atmospheres at the games are nothing like what they were in the 90s.
I remember watching Game 5 of the first round on my phone while heading home on the bus... the TC crowd was completely off the charts. I got goosebumps by how loud they were.
Our crowd SUCKS compared to the other NBA home court advantages in the playoffs. Say what you will about the teams, but Warriors fans, Cavs fans, Celtics fans, Thunder fans, Raptors fans all stand out to me just from what I can see and hear on TV. Those crowds are LOUD from the beginning. Referees are human... I'd suspect some home cookin calls if the fans are REALLY into it. Could be wrong there, but I've seen worse officiating decisions.
