lin might be better than those players in some regards but he has shortcomings too. take note of his good but don't be blind to his bad either.
Yes. Lin is still inconsistent on the offense. His defense has been improved in a great deal. He's not elite, but he's definitely a very consistently good defender. His handles are better but still not good, which often results in him picking up the dribble and get trapped. But at least it is better and he rarely does that jump in the air with nowhere to go anymore. He's more in control. His jump shots have been very inconsistent. This season may be because of his new form, but it hasn't been consistent throughout his career. With the new form, it may bring some consistency later once he is more used to it. More importantly, his great playoff success is due to him getting the calls. This we have to give to his fans, the one made the video, and the others blown it up. Lin normally would stop being aggressive if he doesn't get the call and focus on the defensive end instead, making him one dimensional. And he fuels on emotion, if he thinks he is being mistreated, he gets frustrated, it shows on his performance. Once he starts to get those calls, some of them are star calls, there really isn't much you can do with his ability to drive and pnr. That's the main reason why he's being so successful this playoff series.
Some of y'all are just too salty. I think Charlotte is the perfect situation for him. He was treated pretty poorly in Houston and LA, Charlotte is a quieter market and his teammates and coaches trust him instead of undermining him, that's why he's succeeding.
I'm happy Lin and Lee is playing well. Really after the ASB, I've been rooting for ex-Rockets all around the league, esp. Toronto. Now Charlotte, which.is a different team since they added vets in Batum, Lee, Hawes. In this series, Lin has been attacking better than Kemba. And just like with us, the ball moves better with him than with Kemba who forces shots too much. Confidence--Clifford has given Lin confidence. And he's responding. Btw Lamb and Daniels are good cheerleaders.
1. Agree people are too salty, but it is 100% because of what his fans did to this otherwise fairly civilized BBS. 2. Don't think he was "treated poorly" in Houston at all. Can't speak to LA. In Houston, he was given a lot of chances to succeed but battled injuries and MAJOR inconsistency. Lin would be the first to admit that. 3. Never understood the narrative of Rockets players undermining him. They needed him to succeed and be consistent, but he did neither. It's a paranoid, Lin-fan narrative to think he was "undermined" in Houston. The coaching staff lost confidence in him as he struggled with consistency and decision-making. Very happy to see a good fit for him, off the bench as a high-minutes energizer/scorer, with Charlotte. It's fun to watch, on the one hand, and we don't have to deal with his devoted followers in the GARM, on the other hand, where they clearly didn't care about our team, the Rockets. Cheers.
Only 6? That's the most on the team (40% of the team actually). And tied most from both team (Only Deng also has 6). Lin is officiated like a star for some calls. No doubt. But drive is his bread and butter. Glad he's getting some recognition and benefit of the doubt.
Lin is having a great series and playoffs after a shaky start. Happy for the guy and glad he is finding some success but LOF's can still GTFO
Watching Lin and Charlotte has been a hell of a lot more fun than watching the Rockets in the playoffs. And that sucks.
Its hard to like Lin when as soon as he has success ppl start crowning him as some kind of superstar. Granted Lin has been underrated through the last 2 years, even when he was with the Rockets he contributed a lot during the regular season (I think the Rockets beat Spurs and Mavs on a back to back without Harden) and in the playoff where he played well in game 3 but then his performance was nullified due to the bonehead plays at the end. His contribution to Rockets is hard to remember since his tenure here was tainted with over zealous fans. If you filter out all of that you would like to root for the kid, he works hard and is unselfish. I think he would've helped Rocket this year with his playmaking and ability to penetrate when no1 else can create. This year Harden is the only one that could create offense for the team and when the opposing team locks him up this team is done. But Lin is no where near superstar level even if the team gives him the key. He is good at controlling the tempo, create offense from drives, and improved defense but this kid has subpar ball handling, can not shoot, and he has only one speed. Time and time again we see him drive and unable to pivots, hesitate, or maneuver his way and often leads to getting funneled out of bound. Its funny how all the big ego superstars (Kobe, Melo, Harden) are all sitting at home while he is in the playoff.
Who the hell is calling Lin a superstar? Even the most delusional of LOFs on this board don't go that far.
I think there is also an element of racism in the saltiness. Not big, just a few posters out of 10,000+. a few but VERY vocal few. He was just inconsistent here. tried too hard for home run plays. all we needed was a steady hand at PG that could slash and drive like how hes playing in Charlotte. Also tried to do too much on defense, and gave up the backdoor more times than a gay for pay pornstar. First time I heard of him being undermined by players. Who makes that accussation??? I thought he got sold out by management during the Melo recruiting fiasco offseason, but that was the extent of bad treatment. I actually thought the players seemed to like him? Am I wrong? I never got that sense at all.
So drawing 3 fouls is the main reason for his success in yesterday's game? It had nothing to do with his good defense and his 7 assists? Nice...
couldnt you say this about any role player? Is it funny how Courtney Lee is in the playoffs while Melo, Harden are sitting at home? Is it funny how Goran Dragic is still in the playoffs and Kobe and Harden are sitting at home?
Actually it makes me feel great. Tearing apart your lazy, fake broken Engrish and putting you in your place is very satisfying. MamboRock nailed it with his observations of you. You made so MANY dumb mistakes in your trolling. At this point, whether you run away with your tail between your leg or stay knowing people are laughing at you every time you post now, doesn't matter. Because, you have become the saddest clown in this freak show of a thread, truly worthy of pity.
