I had to post again because I changed the CD in my car yesterday.

I was on my way to band rehearsal (we're about to start recording CD #4) and it's a rather long drive to South Houston in rush hour traffic, so I wanted to listen to something that would fire me up to play.

    I went 70s rock retro...Thin Lizzy's Greatest Hits.

    Whiskey In The Jar
    Fighting My Way Back
The Boys Are Back In Town
    Cowboy Song

Man...bring back the flare pants and 1974 Camaro!!

When Op Ivy broke up the whole band minus Jesse (the singer) started a short lived band called Down Fall. It was kind of a weaker version of Op Ivy but still good. Then they formed Rancid. (they put on a great show at a tiny club called Goat's head soup. The club burnt down right after the show.)

Jesse disappeared from the the music scene for a while. He later put out a 7 inch of a band named Big rig. The band was already broken up when it came out. I don't even think they ever played a show.(that was a good band too.) Couple of years ago He formed another band called Common rider. They put out 2 albums and are currently broken up. It makes me mad cause I love his style of writing .

If you liked Operation Ivy you will like Common Rider.

I have an MP3 player that I plug into my car, so I don't really listen to cd's so much as I do to every song I've ever owned. Basically I got one CD with over 2000 songs on it (and that's not even halfway full). The two latest cd's I've played though besides all the other mixes are
50 Cent - Get Rich Or Die Tryin -- Best rap album for years, best ever maybe
Audioslave - Audioslave -- Both Soundgarden and Rage were awesome bands before they broke up, forming this band was a brilliant idea.

Since I didn't put my list in my first post, here it is.

    Cd player:
    Pinhead Gunpowder-"Carry the Banner"
    Dropkick Murphys-"The Gangs All Here"
    American Steel-self titled
The Queers-"Love Songs For The r****ded"
    Sub City Take Action -comp
The Mr. T Experience -"Milk Milk Lemonade (My favorite song is "Pig Latin")
    Jets to Brazil-"Four Cornered Night"
    Fifteen -"Survivor"
John Wesley Harding-"It Happened One Night"
Cub- It is on a blank cd so I' not sure which album. It has the song (Cotton candy and Blue Socks??)

    Tape player:
Dead End Cruisers-"Going Nowhere Fast" A D.I.Y. tape of a live show in College Station and some studio cuts that I put together for them a while back. But like so many of my favorite bands they are broken up now. That's okay though cause that just mean those members will just start some other bands and I might enjoy them just as much if not more.

    Record player:
The Judy's - " The Moo Album" (Any Judy's fans here?)
And a lot of other vinyl in a rack

    Dude...

Tell me I didn't just read that. I focking loved The Judy's. I used to listen to them with my friends on the way to school back in the day.

I actually know the drummer. He plays in Pushmonkey now as well as another local band here in Houston that my friend plays bass for.

You Never Call Me would be my favorite Judys song. Or Guyana Punch.

Sheesh, I still can't believe I found another Judys fan here. :D

After I read that I started trying to think of my favorite. I can't there is just too many that I love. It seems to change with each time I listen to one of the albums. Right now I'm really into "Don't Be A Hippie" and "Milk".

I have "The Moo Album" and "Washarama" and I'm currently looking around for another one (I think it's called appliances or something like that.) I just hope that when I find it it's affordable. I had to buy another "Wash-a-Rama because someone cracked it at a party I had.

Every time I found one the store wanted fifty to seventy dollars for it and that was pretty much every where in Texas. But I got lucky cause my ex-girlfriend found Wash-a-Rama in Portland, Oregon of all places for twenty-five dollars. :)

    Guayana Punch wah-oh wah-oh-oh!

Did anybody read the article that came out about their lead singer a couple of years ago? It was either in the Chronicle or the Houston Press. He is now a registered massage therapist down in Fort Bend County and his specialty is giving people massages while they are floating in water isolation chambers. Some kind of heavy duty holistic shizznit.

I've been playing way too much "Before These Crowded Streets" by DMB. Less than three weeks until their Houston show and the beginning of 3 concerts in 4 nights!!!

    Beatles-Revolver
Pink Floyd- Dark Side Of The Moon
Stevie Ray Vaughn- Probably Greatest Hits CD 1 or something.
    Jimi Hendrix- Are you Experienced?
    Massive Attack-Mezzanine
A Perfect Circle- Mer De Noms

I usually like stuff that's in general pretty mellow, but I like the loud music too, especially when there's some good drumming involved.

I picked that one up about 2 months ago. Nice groovy tunes. I've found two other songs, "Woman" and "Rag Doll", on WinMX that aren't on that album. Both songs are really good.

    In my truck:

Marilyn Manson - The Golden Age of Grotesque
    Coldplay - Parachutes
