Last 3 games in WC, Yao is averaging 26pts, 9 rbs.

Is this a glimpse of what to come next season? Or is the sample still to small to tell?

BTW, I sure hope to 4 fouls/per game is not...

Yao's numbers in 2004 Olympics were great as well.

I think this was achieved on an average of 30 minutes by 85% Yao. Imaging what a 100% healthy Yao would average playing 35 minutes per game. Granted the above stat is achieved in a different league from NBA but he did play against All-stars USA Team.

    EXACTLY 30 minutes per game.

He played 31 minutes in the game with Italy, 27 minutes with USA and 32 minutes with Puerto Rico.

Actually if not wrongly fouled out in the last 2 games......he should be able to play more minutes, and get more points and rebounds.

Anyway, he is currently #1 of all players in ppg/# of points scored in the World Championship based on 3 games played so far.

What I hope we're seeing is that Yao is quickly regaining his form from his broken foot. Time will tell, but I'm at least encouraged by what I see.

Look at his teammates! They totally suck! Hopefully Tmac and some good outside shooters will help out Yao this year.

    With Tmac.

Tmac will have 26 pts, 6,5 reb, 4 asst in 38 min per game.

I think Yao will average around 25 and 12 next season. He's looked pretty good during the WC's and he's nowhere near 100%, especially in terms of stamina. Although the competition in the NBA is much better, Yao will also be playing with much more talented players than he is now.

Yeah I see Yao's numbers for next season to be around 25pts 12rebs a game. I hope he dominates SHAQ when they square off next season.
