Also, we can kinda take a guess at what type of PF Morey wants to bring in as both Wilcox and Varajao have been rumored to have the Rockets interest. Both are lengthy athletic guys that play good defense for the most part.

If the Rockets truly are considering Brian Cook but don't make that trade... Perhaps they draft a player with similiar skills?

    http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=2132
Could Nick Fazekas be the Rockets target with their 26th pick?

Rebounding is a skill that's supposed to translate well from college to the NBA.
    <TABLE border="0"><CAPTION><EM>College Rebounding Averages</EM></CAPTION>
    <TR><TD>Fazekas<TD>Hayes<TD>Cook<TD>Troy Murphy
    <TR><TD>7.6<TD>8.1<TD>4.5<TD>9.9
    <TR><TD>9.4<TD>7.7<TD>6.1<TD>10.3
    <TR><TD>10.4<TD> <TD>6.7<TD>9.2
    <TR><TD>11.1<TD> <TD>7.2<TD>
    </TABLE>
    <TABLE border="0"><CAPTION><EM>NBA Rebounding Averages</EM></CAPTION>
    <TR><TD>Hayes<TD>Cook<TD>Murphy
    <TR><TD>4.5<TD>2.9<TD>3.9
    <TR><TD>6.7<TD>3.0<TD>10.2
    <TR><TD> <TD>3.4<TD>6.2 (28 game season)
    <TR><TD> <TD>3.3<TD>10.8
    <TR><TD> <TD> <TD>10
    <TR><TD> <TD> <TD>6.0 (26 game season)
    <TR><TD> <TD> <TD>6.1 (broken nose)
    </TABLE>

Cook's NBA numbers don't look that good but factoring in playing time while not as good as Hayes is probably still comparable.

I liked the part in the article where Yao reminisced about all the times that everyone's sunglasses got stolen and then after Juwon left, they opened up his locker and found hundreds of pairs of sunglasses comically fall out his locker. "Oh, that Juwan!!!!!" Everyone laughed in unison until the freeze frame and the credits started rolling.

I loved this part of the article. He may have been a little different off the court, but he seemed to be a good teammate to Yao. Imagine if Eddie G panned out like he was suppose to? The kid had all-star potential. He could block shots, rebound, shoot with range and drive to the hoop. It's just too bad his personal problems got in the way of his career.

This thread makes me think we need to trade into the top 10 of the draft and get J. Noah. (God knows how; Battier + whatever?)

But Morey on 610 acts like he wants to get us an outside shooter at the 4.

    Lots of wonderful misdirection.

Where has Wilcox been rumored to the rockets?

The only thing I've seen at all is a bunch of posters saying they like Wilcox.

These two are the last things to be leaders. Shawn may be qualified, but he's too calm too. The leaders must be hard-working, nice and energitic.

You know you got issues when Yao is saying that you're too quiet :D

I remember that now. Found the yahoo blurb that mentioned it too. Kinda funny how people have just latched onto it when there is so little info about it and is highly unlikely anyway.

I have already been tellling you for weeks ........
For our POWER FORWARD we need a player who is tall, strong and athletic, one who is good at rebounding, especially getting missed shots and making all the put backs. :p
    Certainly NOT an outside shooter

Sure makes you realize how unique Robert Horry was, he could shoot from distance, throw it down, and block shots and get some boards.

We need a young Robert Horry......

Again that description also fits Fazekas. I think he's going 26 if he's still on the board.

Webber might be one of the few people in the NBA who is slower than Yao.He's definitely a defensive liability. We need someone to play defense and rebounds like Anderson Varajao without the mental lapses

I don't think it has anything to do with Chinese culture. 1000 years ago, going for quality hookers who can write poems, sing, and dance, was supposed to be trendy and stylish.

I have been to Beijing and saw plenty of prostitutes there, so do not tell me this has to do with Chinese culture. Prostitution is universal. That is why they call it the oldest profession in history.

This has to do with "Yao Culture". He has a unique set of values that definitely Eddie did not understand.

Also, Yao did not say prostitute. He said "girl". It could be a "basketball groupie" that wanted to be with Yao Ming just because of the fact that he was Yao Ming.

Anyways, Griffin is a free agent. He has millions of problems, but would it not be a good option to take a risk on him?

Imagine Bonzi, Artest and Griffin on the same team. :)

    And when I say brother, I don't
    mean like an actual brother...

but I mean it like the way
    black people use it...

which is more meaningful, I think.

He is tall, but not athletic or particularly strong IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets picked him though.
