If you say no, you're delusional. I or most people in the world(including Daryl) would do that trade SO FAST.

You get a top 3 all time player for a few more years. Clint is amazing but soon he will be paid a lot more and there won't be much flexibility for other things. Did y'all not see 16 finals or the game 5 last night for Cavs? Lebron is a generational player. Gordon also has 2 more years on his deal. Why wouldn't you lock in LeBron longer than that if you could?

No brainer. Get Lebron for anyone not named Harden and Paul.

There is a rumor I read that James Harden does not want LeBron James on the Rockets, because of his high demands, LeBron always takes all the credit. James Harden does not want his Legacy to be a sidekick, forgotten guy. LeBron James did scream and curse out team officials in wanting players traded during the trade deadline. He forced the team to add more bad payroll, Jordan Clarkson contract is really bad, remember LeBron forcing the team to overpay for Tristan Thompson, J.R. Smith, looking like bad contracts now, especially when LeBron leaves than they are stuck with bad contracts on a lottery team next year.

No deal on Clint. Dude still getting better and is going to get better. All he needs to do is develop a outside shot and **** this offense goes to a another level and that's scary.

DJ is not nearly as good a fit as Clint. Like MDA stated last night, our PGs can defend bigs and our bigs can defend PGs.

DJ can't defend on the perimeter and would be liability on switches. He would be replacing Nene role if anything. Not worth it.

First, I should have said I would rather have EGo for PG13 in a SnT that would include filler pieces as you touched on.

However, all that you mention seems unlikely. EGo for PG13 would require fillers, leaving less pieces to facilitate a LBJ trade. But even the lbj trade would be hard due to the salary trade limitations with James likely getting a supermax. Ryno is a bloated contract for CLE or a 3rd team to want to take. And the only other pieces to throw in are not exactly amazing assets for any receiving party. Not to mention the PG13 is likely to sign a bigger deal himself, further squeezing the supply of trade-eligible filler pieces for a James trade.

We would have to depend on CLE and the 3rd team to take some combination of an aging Nene, Ryno, Tarik, and PJ off our hands. Not sure that's appealing if you're losing LBJ. This is of course assuming one of them doesn't go in the OKC/PG13 trade b/c we don't have many other assets of value unless one of those teams are just looking to salary dump or wants just a cr@p load of picks, which is still limited.

In that world, we likely have to choose. Since PG13's shooter profile is better fit for our system, I choose PG13 and his likely lower overall contract.

Nah. Go for Paul George and unload Ariza and Ryno. Gerald replaces Rynos shooting and George is a massive upgrade over Ariza.

    Harden/Paul/George/Tucker/Capela

    Luc/Gordon/Gerald/Nene(?)

    4-5 All Star Level Players.

Are you sure Thunder will trade George for Ryan? Ariza is worth nothing in July.

Unload Ryan is a great idea, but not to Thunder, IMO.

George is a UFA. Unload Ryno and sign Paul George in the off season. Zero chance he signs with OKC.

    Sorry I misunderstand you.

No teams will take Ryan's contract until July 15. They want to see which free agents they are able to sign first, then take Ryan's contract.

George will need to be patient.

Good news, 11 teams are able to take Ryan's contract if they dump a big expiring contract.

Mark Cuban could have a hard time to meet the team minimum salary.

That would force him to take bad contracts, Ryan?

Step 1: Cuban will create crazy offer sheet for young free agents.

the only way i could see us ending up with george is an opt in and trade that includes us giving up anderson, gordon + filler (nene?) and agreeing to take the god awful contract that is camelo anthony's opt-in (or some sort of opt in/buyout where we take another of their crappy contracts like kyle singler).

    Interesting!

Both Ryan and Melo contracts are involved again!

How about 3-way deal with Cavs? T Thompson could be involved.

No one wants Melo, but OKC would love to be free of him. But no one expects him to opt out, which is why i could only see OKC agreeing to anything with PG if they could get rid of Melo.

No one wants Thompson either, but lol at the idea of Khloe coming back to Houston (let's just say that would never happen)

But if you're OKC, if you can dump Melo and possibly Singler (who is just plain dead money if Melo would agree to some sort of structured buyout/signed by Houston), only then would you even entertain being involved in a Paul George trade, else you'd be better off just letting him go UFA.

We've said this in the last 4-5 BasketballScientist threads talking about the same garbage - Lebron and shredding the roster to do so , this is just another cleverly disguised thread along the same lines - would you break up the team for Lebron.

For the life of me , I don't understand why that character is still allowed to start threads , 4-5 of them all on the same subject and they all suck because of misinformation.by the OP.

No one is paying attention to the fact that by opting in Lebron is doing Cleveland a solid in helping them get something rather than nothing and its either take what the team of Lebron's choosing offers or get nothing.

    NOT misinformation

    3 possibilities:

    1. Sign Supermax with Cavs 50% chance - Cavs fans and City try the best

    2. Op-out, signed with Lakers, Magic Johnson tries his best - Magic Johnson/Jennie Buss would invite LeBron for dinner and never give up. Don't forget 76ers.

    3. Op-in, signed and trade with Rockets (why is the most complicated?)

Dan Gilbert would try his best to postpone or block the trade - example: asking price is too high, Refuse to take Ryan (like Knicks)

Tillman could reject the deal if Gilbert does not take Ryan.
