getting out of CP0’s albatross deal is definitely something that should be looked at...his contract is only justifiable if it results in a title

I don't see how Morey is going to be able to trade chis paul. He probably has the worst contract in the league.

 

Trying to trade a silly contract in CP seems almost too difficult.

James Harden will be one of the only ones left. And I think Gerald Green will still be on the roster. No idea why...just a feeling.

These are the most useless reports. We get these multiple times a year. Season end, during draft, during free agency, sometime in December and then the trade deadline: "Breaking News: Rockets aggressively trying to improve. Nothing off of the table."

It's not breaking news anymore. The breaking news will be when we get a report like "Daryl Morey content with roster, not interested in making significant changes."

 

I know exactly what we need to do

 

Convince Kawhi to leave Toronto.

Trade everyone and everything to Toronto for Kawhi to join Harden in Houston.

Leave Kawhi's uncle and sister in Toronto.

Convince Durant (Harden's friend) to sign with the Rockets for one year for peanuts, then give him ubermax next year.

Collect championship trophies and prosper.

 

Paul is only getting dealt if Harden says so.

The more likely scenario is using Capela and/or EG to try to land a secondary scorer.

EG is in the final year of his deal and has value as both a player and contract. Capela’s market is limited, but he does have value to teams that covet a traditional 5. People are quick to forget he was likely our second best and most valuable player during the regular season.

 

the interesting part to me, and I actually wondered if this would come to fruition, is that Morey isn't waiting for "trade season" to begin his moves. Typically we don't see moves until draft night, which is nearly a month from now. Morey has the ability to make trades TODAY because we are no longer playing.

The last part of his tweet seems like he’s turning into just another espn guy. The Paul part is just a guess, which is very unlike past woj. I guess you drink the kool aid eventually when you work for espn.
