If there was a trade in the making that would send

Shane Battier ($7,354,400) For: Danny Granger ($10,973,202)
    Jordan Hill ($2,669,520)
    Chase Budinger ($7,890,871)
    GRAND TOTAL OF: $10,804,791
+ 1 or 2 of the knicks picks

would you at least consider it? Why or why not....?

Sad thing is that he is right. We need a trade like this one... Time to put all these assets to use, we need an upgrade...

I'm sure Morey will try, it just may not be until the deadline.

It's wishful thinking because Granger is their franchise player. In order for them to allow him to be traded, he either needs to decline (through injury or otherwise) or he needs to be old. Why? Because for the Pacer's to trade Granger means they see no future with him as their centerpiece, that they cannot build a contender around him, in which case they must begin to rebuild.

Granger would probally have to demand a change before a trade like this could happen.

The pacers are going to be going after talent up grades. Troy Murphy and Jeff Foster are both coming off the books this year as expiring contracts. If one of the big three gets out of line Riley could threaten to send them to the pacers and get all his cap space back and go after Chris Paul.

Im kidding about the Pat Riley thing but the point I am trying to make is that the pacers are in a position to take on salary of Talented players with remaining years of salary in exchange for some talented big mean who happen to have nice expiring contracts.

If the Pacers were to trade Granger, they have demanded a starting point guard in return. Your proposal fails to provide them with one.

They'll want Brooks added to any trade with us.

Isn't granger a 2? Would you Bench Martin at his salary? He is too small to play 3. Do you bench Ariza and put granger at the 3?

I am pretty sure he meant...that

    7,354,400 +
    2,669,520 +
    +
    Buds 400,000 or so equal

    10,804,781

which would work...but we also have a trade exception right?

He can play the 2 or the 3...but he is the protypical build for a SF and his games puts him more as a 3. Hed be a great fit with K mart because his Outside Shot and Mid range game and he is a top knotch defender.

Lowry, Martin, and Granger would be a great back court.

Im guessing wed have to move brooks/Hill for granger since they need a PG and they drafted paul george. Then those two NYK picks look great.

I just dont know if he is what we need...i still dont think we would be able to beat La or Miami...we need a marc gasol/Cousins type player first and if we get that then add a granger or melo then I think its a whole different story.

Would be better to work a marginal upgrade trade with loosing limited assets say that deal Ariza/Jeffries and 2nd round pick for Iggy

Then use Brooks and NYK picks for CP3 or top notch PF/C like Cousins?

Wow.. C.Bud got a pay raise?? Don't know if Indy would wanna take on that kinda payroll for a 2nd rounder who is only in his 2nd year.

If this is the deal... then, yeah i think you do it. But would the Pacers do it? You have to look at this from their perspective. Yes, they get 1 (or 2 future picks), but at the same time, you have to consider Yao's health. If he get hurt again, we're definitely going to need someone to replace him next season and the best place to start would be the draft with a high pick.

Of course, i'm not sure how the draft will look next year for big men, but the best place to start would be in the draft.

No, he is off by a factor of ten. Bud only makes $700,000.
