Which Houston Rocket do you think fans overrate the most? I had a hard time deciding between Battier and Alston. I think some of the people who believe in Rafer also realize his many limitations so I went with Shane. In general, if the only exposure I had to Battier was reading this message board, I would have no choice but to believe that he was the best all around player in the NBA. The reality, however, is quite different.
I should also give in an honorable mention to Chuck Hayes. Great person, but not so much on the bball court. I know he gets a lot of love from a few vocal posters here, but I think they do it in jest. Most realize that overall he's a very poor basketball player. Thus, I don't consider him as overrated as Battier and Alston.
I voted 'Other' because I don't think any of those players are overrated. I don't think they are underrated either. They are all rated pretty accurately by both fans and the media in terms of their strengths and weaknesses.
I meant who's the most overrated CURRENT Houston Rocket. It should hopefully be evident from the poll options though.
I'm guessing 'overrated' means overrated by the Clutchfans that would easily be Steve Francis, for some reason people here believe that Steve is magically going to be the Steve that flourished in the " ISO-Steve" offense that was created for him a long long time ago.
An example of an overrated player is Gred Oden, in my opinion. The guy hasn't played a minute of NBA basketball but is already annointed by so many as a superstar. It took Yao about 3-4 years of quality basketball before he got his deserved level of respect from the media. I also think players like Andrew Bynum and Rajon Rondo are overrated just because they play on good teams. I do think Bynum has great potential but he hasn't shown it for even one full season yet. Too early to get this much hype.
Gee, all of them are pretty much solid when being rated. Each one of them have their fair and reasonable share of supporters and haters.
Steve D'Shawn Francis 40 page thread on a guy who won't figure much into the Rockets plans, and he was the cornerstone of the most unwatchable Rockets era of recent years, the ISO-Ball Era. Thanks to Rudy and Cat also for that.
Any superstar that gets tired in the 4th qrt. of a playoff game is OVERRATED. Let's just hope Artest brings to the table 4 qrts. of HUSTLE.

Got it. My bad, I jumped into the vote without reading your post. I should know better. In that case, easily Francis for the reasons already stated.
Personally, I would say I overrate Carl Landry. I think that this guy will be an all-star talent. From this board's perspective, Stevie is probably most overrated.
