I want to say Howard's leaving as he seemed like a real drag on the team but to me it's all of these.

Definitely Dwert. All those wasted possessions on handing the ball to Dwight in the post just to make him happy killed us every game.

Role players along with Eric Gordon and Anderson.

    Team is more complete now.

It has become less of the James Harden show albeit huge numbers.

Each one has been very impactful towards the current success of the team --- from finally having some in game adjustments to having a good depth due to the new acquisitions and development of our young guys. At the same time our guys knows how to intensify their defense when needed.

Definitely adding Anderson and especially Gordon. Gave us so much depth and shooting options. Even Nene gives us good minutes when Capela is not bringing it.
Without those guys we couldn't be where we are for sure

Yeah I don't get the Nene hate, Capela has been meh lately, it's important to have guys like that to fill up a hole, at least temporarily

Eric Gordon is the biggest reason. No one knew just how good this guy really is. Morey has been trying to get Eric for years to play with James and Beverly. A perfect match!

MDA is a big part of it, but the organization committing to James fully and unconditionally is the biggest factor. It's his show to run and there's no ambiguity any more. Everyone knows his own role and where each piece fits in.

We shot a lot of 3s and we had bad three point shooters. This year we have good 3 point shooters.

    Ryan/Gordon
    Dekker/Capela
    MDA
    Defense
    Dwight

    In that order

Rockets have a better players this season, namely 3PT shooters.

Owner, GM, coach, Harden all on the same page. Players acquired who made sense with said page. Dwight gone.

Combination of a coach in MDA, upgraded role players who are elite shooters, commitment to an actual system. Harden's play should be a given

Dwight is around the top to be honest, because with him here MDA's offense wouldn't work either.

Lots more pick and rolls, lane is far more open than before which provides way more room for Harden to operate and suck in defense. Also, no wasted possessions going to Dwight Howard post ups, and certainly a lot less wasted points from missed free throws.

The offense changed fundamentally since Dwight left, which is not to say Dwight was a terrible fit with Houston but simply the Rockets went back to what they were good at - Make James Harden the priority on offense.

Did Dwight really post up much?

We did that maybe 5x per game.
