Now that the dust has settled and everyone has somewhat recovered, Let's see what Clutchfans/Rocket fans really feel about David Stern vetoing our trade that has left Morey with the same 9th seed lineup (except for Hayes).
I couldn't care any less about what another team gains or loses out on. I care about MY team and MY team got bent over for the entire league to see. We were denied a chance and It way have ended in failure but at least it would have been OUR decision.
Shouldn't there be a option for those who feel indifferent? As far as I'm concerned, I'm ready to make the best effort we can with who we currently possess. Nene and Gasol are just going to have to miss out.
Maybe. But a thread regarding the trade had over 8,000 posts and half a million views, do you really think fans felt apathetic about it?
Of course I want them in the playoffs. And I expect 82, now 66, good basketball games that I paid for via league pass. What I don't want are these so called super teams constructed by players. I'm also tired of seeing the same teams (LA, Boston, etc.) getting all the quality players. So, yeah, I'm tickled to death that LA didn't get them.
I do be happy the lakers wasnt able to get cp3 and d howard together ;( I be sad because the David Stern League be in full effect. This suck. we all be upset :'( I's wants my NBA back
Slightly down-trotted but still, always, optimistic. Just excited the season is finally starting soon. I bleed red, til I die.
Stern should not have intervened and blocked our trade with the Lakers and Hornets. As many pointed out, there was a clear conflict of interest, where he favored one team over another. Having said that, the Clippers package is superior to ours, giving the youth they are sending the Hornets way. To put it mildly, having Gasol and possibly Nene in our frontcourt would have definitely drawn tremendous interest in our fanbase.
I actually feel option C: Now we can truly rebuild. Pau and Nene were really solid options, but at no point in my mind did I think that was a solid enough team to contend for a championship. And that front line would've eaten up about $35 mil in cap room meaning spending any more in the back court would've been close to impossible. But again, I guess we will never find out what else Morey could've done, maybe trading for a SF / SG....but regardless, I am a fan of rebuilding right, and that is through the draft. With a high enough pick you can either draft a solid young stud, or trade for a stud.
Enough with Nene and Pau. Both are too old for a young team to build around. Not to mention too pricy for how good they are.
