    IMHO -

    * Rick does an excellent job of knowing when to take a player out and match up accordingly. For example, Avery came with a small lineup and Rick quickly took out a cursing Deke to match up. Luther looked slow and not involved, as you can see he play 10 minutes maybe. I really think Luther has scared to death (STD) syndrome against Dallas (Stack is in his head).

    * He makes McLady run the offense after several ISO's, because he realizes the other team will eventually catch on and more than that, it gets the other players moving and involved. You play a lot better D when you're involved in the offense, that's why Denver stinks. After AI and Melo go one on one all night you're like MJ (mike james), I shooting it no matter what.

    * Forces the pick and roll to the baseline, instead of letting them get to the middle of the floor. Awesome adjustment on Jason Terry who murdered in the 1st half.

    * doesn't listen to the fans by putting Steve Francis in the starting lineup vs Rafer Alston

He doesn't over manage the team as a whole or individual players.

Build Chemistry and get players to believe in themselves without looking over their shoulders.

We are lucky to have him.....thanks to Les for seeing the big picture.

*He adjusts pretty well...watching the new-look offense gives me hope. I think we have more 100 point games now then we had all last year with JVG...I do have to eat some crow here.

He can throw out some strangest lineups like:

Battier, Hayes, Head, Rafer, Jackson, and won.

We wouldn't have had that 40 pt blowout loss in game 7 against Dallas with RA.

We might be on the same pace as last year, but if you look at the streak, the Rockets have scored 100+ in 10 of the 17 games. I think the Rockets will surpass the total from last year.

He's open to changing up the lineups and being versatile with his players. He also allows the players some creativity on offense and defense.

He never quites and plays with all his cards to win. He plays Rookies and Veterans, he plays big or small, he defends in different styles, and best of all he lets the guys develop a personality by giving them freedom and time to find out about their strengths.

I wouldn't know anything about coaching but his military strategy is simply remarkable. He has his troops loyalty to the point that they would storm a machine gun nest unarmed.
And bully if he doesn't look grand in uniform.

He privately breaks out his monocle in the locker room at halftime to go over game footage and make brilliant strategic adjustments.
