Try to say it in one breath!

    As of 3/29/08:

NO and SA tied for first, but NO has the better winning percentage, lakers get the 3rd seed because they lead their division but trail houston by 0.5 games, utah gets the 4th seed because they lead their division but trail houston by 1.5 games and phoenix by 0.5 games, houston has the 5th seed but is 0.5 games out of 1st, phoenix is in 6th but would have homecourt advantage against the 3rd seed jazz, dallas/GS/denver are all within a game of eachother for the 7th and 8th seeds.

I know it there are grammar errors... but its one sentence damn it.

    This is crazy.

we dropped 2 spots based on being idle. that's crazy.

NOLA is still in first despite losing. sunday is going to be a big big game.

They should change the rules...division leaders shouldn't get top 4 pick...just automatic playoff birth...

we shouldn't care about the standings until the last game of the season. it'll change nightly. no need to watch the standings where we are every night.

Even though we dropped to 5th, we are still closer to the lead with the lakers and the hornets losing. Crazy, but true.

At least its not the NFL where division winners sometimes play a wildcard team with a better record but still have homefield.

Best record still gets homecourt. But why even move up a "division winner" up into at least 4th place when they have one of the worst records of playoff teams? As though "division winner" means anything. All I remember is who wins the playoff matchups. I couldnt name one division winner from the past 15 years

As long as best record gets homecourt, who cares?

I don't mind the 5th spot. Utah is a terrible road team, so if we can play them in the first round with home court, that's a more favorable matchup than playing the 6th seed (Suns, Hornets, or Spurs) with home court.

I dont think division winners should get anything. I wouldnt mind a 16 team conference with the top 8 qualifying. All you do with having division winners is piss off better teams. But not having division winners in the top 4 would be a step in the right direction.

this afternoon, spurs were in fifth and tied for second. now they're just in second after a win and a laker loss (i only go by the loss column when there are less than 10 games left).

honestly, it's so close that it's like a one point game with 5 min left in the fourth quarter. you'd rather be winning, but you know the lead's going to change a couple more times.

you're either (1) a jazz fan in disguise; (2) a softie; or (3) never played any competitive games.

I would love to play the overrated Spurs in the 1st round and knock them out of the playoffs.

utah sucks on the road indeed. but they only need to win one road game that matters the most, game 7. they did it last year.
